Has anybody ever sent a passport renewal via the post office checking service? How long did it take to be returned?

They advertise it takes two weeks, however I sent mine two weeks ago today and still no sign of it!

Thanks :)

if you have a ref no on the slip the po gave you, ring the pp office to find out where it is in the system

Thanks!! Argh hope it doesn't take three weeks or I'll be having my holidays in my living room!!! eek

OP why did you leave it so late knowing you were going on holiday?

If baffles me when people do this.

Rest assured the Post Office Check and Send service will not get it to you any quicker, it just adds to the PO's coffers.

Aren't there 3 levels of service, standard, a fast one, and an even faster one? It's like £120 but surely it's better than missing out on a holiday!

I got my new passport the week before last, took about 2 weeks.

Mine came back recently, I was amazed it took 6 days!

I was told when I contacted the passport office that they were only seeing people who needed a passport within the next week. As I had three and a half weeks until my flight they assured me that the post office service would be fine to be returned in time for my holiday.

I had wrongly thought my passport expired next year. It baffles how other people can be so perfect.

Evidentally mine took the same!! The couriers they used could not gain access to my flat and never left a card or sent a letter to say they had tried to deliver! Usless!! Will hopefully arrive tomorrow now :)

Just got mine back today, sent it off a week and 2 days ago.

I did not use the Post Office Check and Send Service.
