Paying in cash to a Current Account

How long should it take to clear into your account if you pay 80.00 cash in over the counter, at 12.15pm?

I did this at lunch, and it's still not showing in my current account on my online banking or hole in the wall....

Make sure you hold on to your receipt..>I had this same issue once...The cashier at the barclays bank made an error and I went in after a bank holiday .. Spoke to the manager they denied that i ever banked anything...and the managers said I really trust my employees...Implying I am lying..

bang I produced the receipt...and made them sweat...They backed down and offered 1500£ over draft.. Interest free for a year.

After a year...I closed the account...Dont bank with them anymore

that's my thought, the bank'll sting me on a charge, yet, be funny to see what they do when they get it wrong.... i'll shout tomorrow at them, and also move my current account from RBS

you still got the receipt?
#8
yes agree with all of these guys - should be instant

Yes this should be instant, as it does'nt need to go through a clearing cycle. even paying in a cheque will show on your balance (but as uncleared). I would go back with my receipt .

i do have the receipt in the paying in book,

I checked again at 12.30am, and nothing,

Checked this morning, the money was paid in, and also the cheque which went in the slim behind it, but bundled together as 114 pounds (80 cash 34 cheque)..... I really don't trust this bank

Maybe just an employee error that was found and fixed, noticed it had not been put threw. But I would still phone them up and query this, it should be instant :)
