Hi All,

Is anyone good enough to let me pick their brains?

I've usually carried out transactions using other forms of payment.

Anyone got any views on using PayPal?
What are the fees like ?
Is it usual to be required to sign-up for Direct Debit?

Thanks in advance.

:)use paypal all the time one of the safest and fastest ways to pay,the fees are fine if your the buyer, and not to expensive if you are the seller unless its a car or something you are selling then its best to take a small amount in paypal as a deposit hope that helps xx

Never had any problems with Paypal & been using it for years. You can even pay for goods from your Credit Card, for added security & also the advantage of delaying when you actually have to pay the funds.!

As a buyer, it's fine, with no fees to pay.

The biggest drawback is that you lose the protection you would have had under S75 Consumer Credit Act 1974 for credit card purchases of items over £100. There is a PayPal scheme, but you're then reliant on them, rather than the law.

As a seller, though, it's a pretty expensive option.

You have to use a trackable method else anyone can claim back. I've had people try in the past but Paypal tell them to get stuffed once tracking details submitted.
