Hi there I brought a bag from ebay a month ago, and on first inspection the bag was fine. I gave them a positive feedback, but when I came to use the bag for my first time the strap just came off?…

Hi there

I brought a bag from ebay a month ago, and on first inspection the bag was fine. I gave them a positive feedback, but when I came to use the bag for my first time the strap just came off? And a further look indicates that the buckle has been tampered with ( looks like they tried to hammer it back into place). I can still open the dispute but after a VERY short time paypal has concluded this in favour of the seller even though i am verified and have over 100 feedback on ebay? I said I could provide pictures for them to show them the buckle and also pictures of the bag with the tag on and foam/tissue paper inside to show it has not been worn. I was just after some advice on what I can do if anything? As i felt this case was dealt with very poorly and justice was not servec.?

thanks
zincy

Appeal it with PP, phone them and ask for it to be re-opened. I don't hold out much hope, the seller has probably argued after a month you have used it and damaged it. Although not the case try appealing or if they are a business seller tell them you will report them to TS. Only thing you can do.

yeah thats exactly what they said, i have emailed them to but couldnt find a number to contact them? I just get through to automatice machine.

But the thing is I could prove the bag was not used as it still has the tags and tissuepaper etc but paypal didnt even ask for photos!

it cost me £72 hence why I opened a dispute or i would have just left it. To be honest i think my bets bet is to go to timpson to get it repaired!!

thanks for your opinions

Go back to your feedback list and there is an update link for the buyer (the seller can't).

It may not do anything for you financially, I appreciate that, but it will make you feel a little better and it is doing a good service for others who come along after you.

lol thats a mix between the 2

item not receievd or significantly not as described?

it could make a difference to what procedure paypal took on the matter

but as tinks said best to ring them and have a word, just explain everything that happened

they can and do reopen some cases

you cant leave negative feedback as a positive....you will get into trouble for that

i know i got suspended for leaving a message warning others about a scammer

i know .....its a joke

When you follow up keep it factual, you are the buyer so are not too restricted to what you can say, just don't mention dispute. Somthing like,
Went to use for the first time, strap broke, seller refused refund.
A follow up makes the fb more noticeable too.

good advice

unfortunately i had money in my paypal account so it didnt use my credit card money

Find out where they are trading from & sent a "polite" email with your photo's etc asking for a refund. If they reject it, ask them for a VAT receipt (which I doubt they can provide), and then inform them that you are going to flag them up to the taxman for selling goods & not declaring it :D

You'll get your refund.......

Just to keep you gusy updated, I have contacted paypal and they refuse to look into this further stating its been over a month. So I emailed back asking why that is a problem when paypal gives you 45 days to raise a dispute and that I can provide evidence (photos). Anyways they have re-opened this case for me....but I will have to wait a lil longer for the outcome
