I imagine youve already changed your password to protect anymore developments? How they got into your account beats me, have you clicked on any paypal e-mails lately? theres lots of them scam ones about.
Dont worry, I bet it will get sorted, but paypal are slow on things like this x

So your account has been hacked / id stolen.

Not sure how Paypal handles these though, surely it'd be handled in the same way as when your credit-card is cloned/stolen - ie you don't end up out of pocket

Edit - thinking about it, i'm not sure what they'll do actually, this is Paypal after all......

the problem is paypal only gaurantee on fleabay otherwise they only give the money back if the person has the money in my paypal account

ive changed all passwords rang paypal who have put a stop on my account , rang the bank fraud dept ect , luckily its been with draw fnds from bank account and not through my debit card ,, so hopefully the debits can be sttopped befor they go out or i wont have the funds to pay my bills and get bank changes .. lucklily id just logged on my email as the 1st one for £579 dollars came through the 500 quid one happened as i was on the phone to paypal . .. paypal say debits are automatic so i cant be refunded untill they actually recieve the cash ,, they arent showing on the banks system yet so cant to stopped from the bank end untill they are ,

i had a go at paypal for this .. ive never ever trasfered funds from may bank to paypal let alone such large transactions they should have extra security in place for unusuall transactions on your account maybe a phone verification or something ,,

Yes, definitely make people feel a bit more secure.

just had this from paypal regarding both transactions

"PayPal is processing your unauthorised acitvity claim regarding thefollowing transaction(s):

While we investigate this claim, funds equal to the disputed amount havebeen returned to your PayPal account. Once our investigation is complete, any portion of this transaction that now forms part of your balance andthat was originally funded by your debit card, credit card or bank accountmay be automatically transferred from your PayPal account to that card orbank account. Please note that it might take up to 30 days for the refundto be credited to your card, depending on the relevant card issuer."

so good news...what a relief!

DO NOT click emails that seem to be fromn paypal......

thats how they got into your account

paypal will always call you buy your real name

dear dave mckinnon etc while a fake one will be dear paypal member

LINKS IN THE EMAILS WILL GO TO PHISHING SITES, THEY WILL LOOK LIKE PAYPAL WEBSITE BUT WILL BE A CLONE

if you recieve a paypal email always check it in your account @ the paypal website

to be honest, the only way they get into your account is the owner being less vigilant ......... you wouldnt let someone have your cards pin numbers right ??

thats why paypal and bank scams are so common, people are not vigilant when using money online .......... there is hundreds of millions stolen using the internet every year because people don't expect it to happen

it happened to me, but fortunately paypal and ebay caught the swines and they got away with nothing

just be vigilant in the times, its gonna get more common
