Paypal Problems?

I'm thinking of signing up for paypal to use for quidco as well as ebay. However I was wondering how UK customers have found it from experience and knowledge of problems that have occurred.

I found this website and it kinda scares me about paypal.
http://paypalsucks.com/

Could it be discussed please so I know that I'll feel safe without my account getting hacked. Thanks

I have been using Paypal for a few years now, never have been hacked on eBay or Paypal.I change my password often too.Aslong as you don't fall for any scam emails that come in proposing to be from Paypal or eBay then it seems unlikely you going get hacked.
When taking Paypal payments, when your bothered about sending an item that you would miss the money on,its recommended that you send the parcel by signed for delivery. As you do get the occasional buyer, who will say an item not been received and Paypal is the buyers friend not the sellers,so make sure you have tracking numbers.
Paypal charges to take payments,it depends on what account you have.
You also find that many websites take Paypal now to pay with instead of direct with your debit or credit card.
Theres loads to be said about it,I've seen that site you mention, yeh some hate it some like it.

If you got anything more specific to ask I'll try answer it.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I just don't want to end up having my money frozen due to some evil person claiming they didn't receive an item. When you say they charge to take payments at what point does that begin. I was reading into fees that with a personal account it's free isn't it?

But at what point do they deem it required to upgrade to a premier account and therefore begin charging money to recieve funds?

Happening to me at minute, one item I sent courier is stuck at the wrong depot(a PSP) gave buyer tracking details and buyer was rude and claimed courier told them the address was different on parcel then hers and open PP claim, which made PP freeze funds, and I will lose as item hasnt arrived yet so I dont have proof of delivery as tracking details show it in depot.

Ouch, hope it gets sorted ryouga. This is one of the reasons why I'm weary about using it. It seems that the monopoly had began when there was the link with ebay. Google Checkout looks nice, but ebay doesn't want to know.

Paypal fees is 20p per transaction plus about 3.4% roughly,I've got a premier account.
If you not selling too expensive items, then you usually can charge enough postage to cover your Paypal fee and most of the eBay ending fee.

You need call up the carriers, and they should be able to give you the number of the depot its stuck at.You need to either get the item to the buyer so the dispute is resolved on Paypal or you need it sent back to you,the longer it goes on,the money will be lost, and you be without the PSP,when items are laid about depots, its easy for them to get lost.
I don't sell anything of high value like PSP,a lot of my items are 99p,I don't really have anything that goes past £10 at moment.I would only send something of high value by Special Delivery.I sold some Chessington tickets this wk,they were just clubcard deal ones,I ordered them several mths back and it turned out our daughter was a couple cm under 1m so entrance was free for her and we went for 2 days. They sold for about £18 plus postage I sent them Special Delivery.Royal Mail don't like insure things like jewellery, cash, tickets, gift vouchers under Recorded mail.

eBay doesn't want to know because they own Paypal.
I'm sure I read ages back that they make more money from Paypal than from eBay fees from sellers.eBay own Skype,Gumtree and probably a lot of other things.

You sent a PSP by Courier? Why, S/D would only have been six quid odd.

Anyway,
When was it picked up?
When did the buyer pay?
When did the buyer start the dispute?
Did you put your address on the box as well?

Picked up on the 15th item paid for on the 12th, buyer opened dispute yesterday afternoon and yes my address was on box too.

I sent with courier as it was £6 anyway and was worried about rm being slow at minute and a load of things have gone missing at local sorting office recently(all mail is routed through Glasgow to be sorted) so didnt want to risk it, and though courier would be safer.

Special Delivery is usually always next day by 1pm ( there a 9am service too ) unless its to certain parts of Scotland like Shetland etc,and they don't gurantee for a Saturday delivery,if posted on a Friday but its guaranteed for the Monday unless you pay a bit extra.I think if an item doesn't get there on guranteed date they even pay the postage fee back,I'm sure I've seen that on their site.
