Just looked back through my received payments and it appears your PayPal details are sent as part of the Paypal confirmation however you complete the transaction. So the only possible way would be to change your unconfirmed details to a false name and address which may upset other aspects of your account. You could open a new account with 'false' details against a new email address just to pay this transaction. In short I would say no, you cant hide your paypal registered details. Hope this helps.

Send me enough and within 4 hours I won't know my name lol

I think your name is there for a confirmation typa thing, so i dont think you can hide it,
I've got a business account doesnt seem to let me hide it,
What i did realize though is that most payments sent - show your business name rather than your name, so you can just name it whatever really, and you can change it later. :P

Also sorry if this is a stupid question but if i bought something off ebay but didnt have any Paypal Balance it would use the back up payment of the card wouldnt it? If so how long does it take to go through is it straight away payment or would it take a day or something? Was just wondering ;)

the money gets into the sells acount straight away, the pp payment from your account takes about 5 days (from exp)

can you not opt to hide your full name whilst sending payment under the new "gift" option?
or you could paypal it to someone else and have them paypal your person.

Yea thats a thought. Would it allow me to hide my name under the 'gift' option.

I could PP some get them to PP the person, but i would prefer if i could do it direct.

It is a major thing c, identity. I think facebook etc is a government conspiracy to spy on all people lol. Its so easy to get details these days, this is why the OP prob wants to keep them safe.

Its not that in depth LOL. I would prefer that the reciever didn't know my surname as i believe it could come back to haunt me.
