Paypal Top Up Card

Useful for those who sell on ebay and want their cash a bit quicker, if I've read correctly you can transfer funds to your card and use it like a debit card or cash card

https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/Marketing/general/PPTUCHome-outside

If you regularly sell on eBay, it's now even easier to access your funds. Sign up for the PayPal Top Up Card and you can load, spend and withdraw money from almost any cashpoint displaying the Visa symbol.

The PayPal Top Up Card is a reloadable card that works in a similar way to a debit, credit or store card. You simply top it up when you need, or when you can afford to.

It gives you the control to pay as you go when shopping online, or on the high street. And it's safer than carrying cash.

But if you want your cash in a hurry i s'pose 2 quid's a small price to pay, or also if your withdrawal is under 50 quid. Can still use in a shop for free

yeah I guess if you want it quicker than waiting for it to hit your bank account it might be worth looking into :)

I detest the atm machines that charge me for withdrawing my own money!

Trouble is the places you desperately need money all have machines that charge you, at least most of the banks got away from there fees which made no sense, charging you for wthdrawing money from other banks machines the so-called disloyalty fee!!!

Haven't gone for this myself TBH, however with a few threads on the For Sale / Trade forum offering paypal balances for cash in the bank it could be useful for some, certainly until all the banks get online with "speedy payments"

Really depends on your situation and how quickly you need the turnaround of cash, of you want to spend your funds straight away then probably is worth it.

I'm in two minds at the moment, may get one just so I have the facility in the future.

surely Paypal have to declare our accounts + earnings to the government?

SO - Have I got this right:
If I sell an item on ebay for £400 and Im paid via paypal, I can then transfer the £400 to the card and withdraw the whole amount from a visa cash machine?
Will the transfer from account to card be instant? If yes this would be good as the wait from paypal to my bank account is far to long....and I prefer funds to clear before I post an ebay item, and this always puts buyers off.

Looks like it would be good for people to use instead of those prepay cards if you use Paypal and eBay anyway and if you only have a Visa electron card which you can't always use on the net.

At least you can load funds onto the card for free, just pay the £4.95 and use it as much as you want.

Looks quite good to me, they haven't given much details though, have they? Suspicious?

This is what I understand to be the case and is certainly what is implied. It would be a poor product if it took a while to transfer to the card as most other pre-pay cards are virtually instant

also baring in mind you get charged at atms certain ones and you would have to pay 2.00

Heard someone say a couple of months ago about the paypal "debit" card saying they went to purchase some food at Asda and their card was declined but had about £700 in it, turns out paypal limited their account!

I dont trust paypal at all.
