You would have thought they would drop that terrible Wordart logo by now :whistling:

so until they come back can anyone suggest a strong alternative because I was arranging with ppd to delivery something to France for me
#3
Parcel2go.com

maybe..

hmm, did they end the contract with DHL or were they pushed?

I can't imagine other resellers were happy with their pricing.

As to P2G. I don't like them. They have a tendancy to overbook as policy so if you are in a busy area you might not get a pickup on the day you request.

Pharos are great - really competitive pricing and their collections/deliveries are actually UPS.

Avoid postvan like the plague...there's a thread on MSE about them if you fancy looking for it. Not a good experience.

Also avoid parcelwizards on ebay. There's a thread on MSE all about them, too.

I have just got through to them at 8.01am as I have a collection today and they said any orders which have been confirmed by email will not be affected and collections will take place as normal.

PayPerDrop has been in business for just in excess of 1 year; from the outset DHL has been our preferred carrier.

From December 2007, we will no longer be using DHL’s services.

As of 14th January 2008, we are excited and proud to announce that PayPerDrop is entering the parcel distribution market with its very own nationwide delivery network.

So why use Payperdrop ?

#PAYPERDROP – HOME COLLECTION/DELIVERY SPECIALISTS

From the outset, at Payperdrop, we have experienced a very high demand for our services from private individuals and small businesses, many coming to us through Ebay and similar internet portals. Because of this, we plan continued expansion within this exciting sector and will be uniquely placed as the sole UK carrier focusing on ‘home’ collections.

Our network of local drivers will cover most of mainland UK and we plan to expand into Northern Ireland during Spring 2008.

#REDUCED INCIDENCE OF DAMAGE / LOSS

We believe that the current method of collecting, sorting and delivery by the major parcel carriers is not suited to home collection. The result is, that damage and loss is more common, as a typical parcel movement can involve loading the package into and out of various different vehicles and storage in more than one depot.

#IMPROVED SYSTEM – DEVISED WITH THE CUSTOMER IN MIND

With us, Your parcel is fully-trackable, right from pick-up. Collection information will be relayed on to you, seconds after collection is made. Proof of Delivery will also be available immediately after the delivery is signed for.

#THE PERSONAL TOUCH

Less parcel handling should result in noticeably less risk of parcel damage or loss. Once you get to know your dedicated driver, there should be no problem arranging a convenient time for collection/delivery.

#SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY OFFERS FOR OUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS !

Simply subscribe to our mailing list and receive exciting PayPerDrop News and Product Updates.

If you do this before 01/01/08 – you will be eligible for discounted rates on your UK parcel deliveries :

By subscribing, you can take advantage of 1 – 2 Day Delivery UK Mainland Delivery at our amazing rate of £4.99 – offer extended until 01st March 2008.

For more offers and product information, watch this space…

#AND FINALLY…

This will be our very own unrivalled service to you and unlike any other.

We will also continue to collect from / deliver to business addresses, as normal.

So why not make use of the all- new PayPerDrop UK Delivery Service ?

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for reading this email. We would also like to wish you a Merry Christmas and we look forward to being of continued service in the New Year .

I arranged a pickup and paid my 4.99 the night before the website showed the message. I really thought I would never get a courier as I couldn't even get through on the phone

BUT

good news everyone the courier turned up on the correct day (today) about 6pm so I am chuffed!!

Looks like their statement about "everyone who ordered and got their email through will still have a courier" or whatever it said, is true.. PHEW!!
