PC help!!! - 2.5" SATA hdd in external case not showing in windows?

i put a hdd in an enclosure and it comes up in talk bar saying safely remove hardware...but doesnt come up in my computer, or auto start...any ideas??

what u mean formeted? no......or u mean shut down and re-boot then yeh butive tried it twice now

Start->run->"diskmgmt.msc"

partition and format it., you'll work it out

The disk may not even be partitioned if it is brand new.

Right click on the 'My Computer' Icon on the desktop and choose 'Manage'.

In the Computer Management screen chose Disk management.

See if your disk shows up there and if needs be partition and format it.

Have a look at device manager - to see if it recognises it at all - as in an exernal disc.... It may be called E or F drive or something similar....
