Basically, I had problems with my laptop and had to restore factory settings, I have got a Norton 60 day trial firewall etc. but I keep getting a Norton warning telling me that I have no virus protection, please can someone tell me what is the best way of installing a virus protection/cost/website etc.
Many Thanks,

you will need to completely clear all trace of Nortons from you lappie prior to installing the new software or it wont work- there will be conflicts.

I suggest downloading whichever software you decide on but don't install it at that point just save it to the laptop. Then download removal tool for Nortons

http://www.symantec.com/en/uk/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080710133834EN&ln=en_UK#

After you have downloaded the tool, turn off Wi FI on the laptop (so you cant access the internet) and run the removal tool.
After that has removed Nortons, you can install whichever anti virus software you downloaded. Then turn WiFi back on. (its usually a switch somewhere on front of the laptop)
Following the above in that order should ensure that you have no conflicts with software and that you are not vulnerable to attack in the time it takes you to download and install the new software.
Hope all goes well:thumbsup:

another point - this worked for me in getting rid of sneaky norton and aol software. once you've removed them, restart pc, then do a file/folder search with "norton" as search parameter and delete the lot and restart again.
