PC Monitor Advice

I'm wondering which monitor to get with a desktop I'm getting for Uni. It will mainly be for internet browsing, watching films and playing music.

Are the LED monitors alot better than the standard type in terms of quality? I can spend up to about £100 at the most and PC world have one for that down from £200. 18.5" LED.

Cheers
James

For £100 you'll just get a basic monitor and the one that PC World have just knocked down from £200 to £100 was probably under £100 elsewhere before.

Have a look on www.ebuyer.com or www.overclockers.co.uk and read reviews before buying anything.

you can get a decent 19 for well under 100 quid, dont worry about led, its much the same (just makes them a bit thinner)

A good rule to remember is NEVER trust anything in the PC World sale.

As rmw24 says, it was probably never sold at the price they say it was sold at.

I did a search for that Acer 195HQLb and found about 20 places selling it for LESS than £100 (see page 1 and page 2).

I'd spend a little extra and het a full HD one (1920*1080), will only need about £20 extra, LED I don't think is really needed, I turn the backlight all the way down on my monitor anyway. I have a 23" 1080 LG that I'm using at Uni atm.

The one i found at micro direct is Full hd (1920*1080)

Many thanks for the replies, will dish out some reps tomorrow, off to bed now, exams in the morning :(

Is there much difference in quality between these screens and the likes of Acer? I'm liking the 22" one for £106 but it's by AOC who I've never heard of...
