The vga adapter on a pc doesnt send out sound. dont know anything about this sender unit but would assume it has some sort of sound in from your pc's speaker/headphone socket
#2
its not plugged into the vga its plugged into the tv out and the other is plugged into the soundcard which is where the sound comes from
#3
get a set of headphones and confirm there is sound coming out of pc by hot swapping the jacks.
If thats ok that try (re)tuning tv further along a bit (maybe just fine tune)
also see if there is any adjustment on frequencies of transmission, there may be interference coming from another wireless device

ive got a wireless router could that be interfering??.if so what can i do?

yeah it could, be try confirming with router switched off at mains, if it then works ok u can try using a diff channel on the router but dont change anything until u confirm as it really could be many other things
such as it could be next door neighbours router! not yours

I think maddogb is getting confused, there is sound, no picture.

I would check the tv out is working ok on the pc first, connect it directly to a tv rather than using the sender. If that works then it's a problem with the sender.

Have you enabled the tv out? You need to tell the pc to output on it rather than just plugging it in. Think it;s in the display properties, right cick desktop and choose properties, then settings.

I think you are right but i think that may be due to the original post rather than the edited version lol
Those are good suggestions to try then, also transmission is ok as your getting sound, so if benjis ideas don't work its more likely to be your pc is doing a resolution the tv sender./adapter is unable to handle, try adjusting res to ...say 640*480

I guess I've only seen the editied version!

Good idea about the res, I think once tv out is set up you can set it to a different res than your normal screen can't you? Assuming you've got it set up to give you two desktops rather than copies of the same one.

A quick search on google is the answer:

You might have to play around with the settings as they might not look exactly like that.
