Does anyone know a way around the collect at store policy. I have spotted a laptop i would like from pc world but the nearest store that has it in stock is over 300 miles away.
Is there a way i could get it delivered or transfered to a closer store.

Ok cheers for your quick reply. I did phone pc world but they said there was nothing they could do. Will pop in this afternoon and ask the question.

If you go instore and enquire about it they will get it delivered to your store, the one near me has doen before anyway.

yep i've even had stuff from currys before and had the stock transferred from pcworld. they will do it rather than lose the sale

The product code is354080and i can pick up from the barrow in furness store or the braehead (glasgow) store over a weekend.
I have just been into the barrow store and spoken to the manager. He is currently ringing round the other stores so fingers crossed.

best way around this ok?!

Contact the business centre in the pc world that has the stock. Just say you want the item for a project you are doing. Tell them they have the only one. They will be able to use the business system to match the collect at store price.

Tell them you will buy the cover or something which will sweeten the deal for them.

Business center post things out c! And they will do anything for a new account.

Failing this, the stores have an internal DHL link which they use to ship stock around. They know about it, and do it alot, but the deal needs to be sweet. In order to sweeten the deal, they will be after things like £100 on top worth of accessories (which you can not use and return for full refund) and also things like the monthly cover (which you can ask for free for a couple of months) and cancel when you want.

Or, you can just go in there and tell them someone in head office said to request they have it transferred. ;)

Ok its sorted, should be able to pick it up monday from my local branch. Thanks to everyone who helped out.
