People power: Lets Boycott all freemans, littlewoods, addition deals as they are rarely honoured

Inlight of the shocking way that WE have been treated recently by these companies failing to honour deals and cancelling. I propose that ALL deals by these companies are boycotted or voted cold as they will probably never be honoured anyway.
Examples being:

Strangley out of stock

IF you use their codes they have a get out in the T & C's to charge you FULL price when they choose:

Im not against your idea but i for one wont be boycotting deals. Just because some are not honoured for most, some people do actually get the deal so i think its always worth a try if its something you want. Take for instance empire stores deals, i have got a cheap ps3, shower, bike, lawn mower and home cinema system not to mention loads of cheap xmas pressies from there all from deals posted on this site and not a problem with any of them

Everytime someone misses out on something, we have the same calls for them to be banned/boycotted.

We even had a half arsed attempt at consumer revenge by a toothless 'organisation' of keyboard warriors.
They sold their principles down the river for 20 pieces of silver.

If the price is right people will buy.

The price is right, quoting an 80s game show and that from a man who was Simon Templar...

Buy now and pay later is there motto, and some surely will do at quite a high price.

They have charged back once - http://www.internetretailing.net/news/littlewoods-recharges-customers-for-use-of-online-vouchers - and be sure they wont hesitate to do it again, others will surely follow suite ???

They have it all sewn up in the T & C's, users of codes have no redress

Until you get charged FULL price and have no choice but to pay, also no returning the goods.

I hope it works out, I think a lot of people are in for a wake up call very soon when the creditcard statement rolls in

Hi,
I totally agree. It is actually quite a seldom occurence that any of the group honour any form of order, far from honouring the so-called discount codes. Delivery times, should the order be successfully processed, are similarly woeful.

I agree with your views - it isn't right if they decide a few months down the line that they will not be honouring your discount code.

I understand the risk I am taking when I use these vouchers, so wouldn't use them to buy something that if they did charge full price later then it would be the end of the world.

I have used the codes numerous times and have never been charged later - I even phoned up and used the £50 discount voucher that was posted here in November/December! Purchased one of those Disney Princess televisions for my daughter for £80 instead of £130. I couldn't find the TV particularly cheaper anywhere else so my heart won't be broken if they did come back to me.

I wouldn't boycott them personally, just advise people to use the vouchers with caution

Like I said, It's all been said before. I have used them countless times, and had no problems.

Their terms and conditions are over-ruled by the law, so no danger of paying extra for something in my household.

Please explain how YOU alone are protected from the terms & conditions. :?

Not me alone, everyone in this country is protected by the "Sale of Goods act".

Some of Littlewoods et al's T&C's contravene the law, so they can not be enforced.
If they penalise you, you will win a small court claim if it were to get that far.

Had a very good discount once with Littlewoods where they later charged me the full price. I had a winge at them and got them to credit my account with the original discount.
Also had good deals which they honoured.

You take your chances.
If it works you get a good deal. If it doesn't just put it down to experience.

Enjoy the chase.;-)

Realistically the internet is meant to be a convenience form of shopping - yet dodgy deals are set up where they rely upon you to read through pages upon pages of conditions to find out why they dont have to stick to what whould have appeared to have been their side of the agreement.

Its just one stage off not honouring cashbacks - but its rip off Britain - and we are here to be conned.

If you walked into a shop and they tied to hit you with all this **** - but you were standing there facing them when they tried to inform you of all the conditions you would walk out. So why should a form of shopping that is meant to be more convenient rely upon stuff like this that no one car realistically read through before making a normal purchase.

I wonder how these things would stand if challenged using the unfair terms in consumer contracts legislation.

While I can see why morally it is a good stand to boycott these shops, if they offer a deal that looks unbelievable people will go for it - its human nature (and the same human nature they rely upon to screw you) - and a percentage of these people will probably get it get what they ordered. So people will go for it.

A better idea than boycotting the companies is to put a message in the deals showing they have dodgy terms and conditions or have failed to honour previous deals.

I wrote to freemans regarding the w377 - and they just ignored me - so I am happy to mention that as i take points off their deals.

I would also like to add Tesco to this as Ive had problems with them not honouring a discount which they were advertising as they admited they didn't have the stock to meet the demand! I thing a better way is for everyone to contact Watchdog so they can look into this business of on line sites not keeping their stock up to date and deals honoured!
