I just had a look on ebay for euros etc, they all seem to be selling for over face value. Why on earth would you pay more for it? Read More

Well the banknotes are made from cotton and linen I think.

Quidco cashback maybe?

I often think the same when I see vouchers sell for more than the value. Maybe due to the fact they live out in the sticks and cant get into a shop. If its just a few pounds it maybe worth it rather than making a trip into town. They may have got the conversion the other way round.

High street is best bet. Sainsbury are selling them now in some branches. The selling point is they beat the Post Office rate!!!! I dont think its worth going from shop to shop these days. I would guess they all check each others rates anyhow. I would aviod getting at airport as the rate is a lot lower. In past it has sometimes been better getting the Euro in the destination but that would depend on where you are going.

People may have money in Paypal and don't want to wait the 5 days for bank transfer?
Cashback?
Ebay Plus Points?
Stupidity?
Convenience?

People have money in dodgy Paypal accounts with fake details so cannot get access to the money without using real details. However, buying vouchers/money/etc then paying by Paypal can keep your identity hidden while allowing access to your dodgy funds.

Simples.
