People with no intention of buying? commenting

Should people be allowed to comment in a item somebody is selling if they are not looking to buy? ie point out they think your asking price is too high etc. to me If you specify a price and somebody is happy to pay it then that's a done deal. If there is something false in the Ad then fair enough

This forum is about hotdeals, If somebody is selling something and it can be purchased cheaper elsewhere then it should be noted on the thread so somebody that might not realise is not paying over the odds

Personally I wouldnt sell anything on here as everybody knows the cheapest place to find stuff and so you always get lowest prices

This has been discussed before...if I recall it was agreed that thread spoiling should be avoided but surely if the item can be found cheaper brand new then giving the link where it can be purchased is part of the Hot Deal ethic...most HUKD members do not want to see people ripped off and from my experience most of the rip off deals come from people who just register as a member to sell something at an inflated price or in some isolated cases to scam.

Fair enough then if they link to the deal to show this but you get people commenting they THINK it's available from X at X price...

the case should be people can check themselves using the search function.

It's not just that people will chip in saying they think a price is too high based on their own opinion. That offers no real benefit to anybody.

I think you're right though. this is the wrong place to try sell something.

Moderator comment - no, they are technically not allowed to comment in a selling thread. See the "for sale" forum guidelines for a full explanation of this. If you feel someone is not following the guidelines, please use the "report abuse" button, on the post in question.

They are allowed to post a link to an online retailer which clearly shows a cheaper price, but they cannot just say "I got it for this price... blah blah blah "
