what a nasty way to buy an animal, what's wrong with visiting the breeder, having a nice chat, picking out the one you like, and taking it back with you (if it's ready, if not at a later date).

This is an absolute scam. And I hope you lose your money buying a pet this way.

I'm trying to work out who's lower here. The 'breeder' or the idiot buyer

MoneyGram is the second largest money transfer business in the world.

Wiki Link

Suppose your only concern is with who you are buying from.

EDIT: Can't seem to find their refund policy and US based, would not recommend.

i spoke to the breeder on the phone and traveled 2 hours to get mine last year,i even went to the vet who they used to get him checked out
the breeder also said they would pop over to see were i lived and to make sure we had a good loving home for him, i would never buy a pet this way

Yodel are they on your list if so puppy might get left in a bin or damaged

the breeder lives 11 hours one way from us. the puppy looks cute and comes with all papers and not expensive. im just worried it can be scam... any way of checking that?
#9

Genuinely don't think anywhere in the UK is 11 hours away. Please prove me wrong. Unless you mean 11 hour round trip.

Seriously this is one of the most surprising things I have read on here. It's not an accessory it's a dog. You find a breeder and find a pet that is suitable and has a nice nature. You cannot do this from an image. This also allows you to know you are getting a healthy animal and not have to worry about paying. Plus your gonna separate a puppy from its mother and shove it in a box to be couriered for at least 11 hours. It will be scary. Do you really want to do that to an animal? If you do I think you need to reconsider.

from lands end to glasgow is about 9 hrs so they both must leave at opposite ends of the uk

Has anyone counted ferry passage times? Jersey, Scillies, IOM, Outer Hebrides? (Shetlands are 15 hours passage iirc)

What is the longest legal duration for transporting livestock?

Edit: NVM.

In 1984, Neal Champion covered 884 miles from John o' Groats to Land's End in 11 hours, 14 minutes, on a Kawasaki GPZ750 Turbo

Jesus, and I'm picky about buying vegetables online? oO

How to buy a puppy:
Decide you want to buy a puppy>Visit one or more local breeders/rspca> When you see that one special puppy you fall in love and arrange to collect it at a later date.

How not to buy a puppy:
Decide you want to buy a puppy>google 'where to buy puppies'>visit any unknown website>browse pictures that could be of any dog >click add to basket>enter credit card details>hope a puppy arrives in good health.

The idea of buying a dog in person is to get a feel for the breeder, see how the dogs are looked after, is the breeder dodgy, ask face-to-face questions about the dogs parents health etc, see if the puppy is well with your own eyes, do you take a liking to it. ]

There are dog breeders everywhere, you are probably closer to a breeder than to your nearest Macdonalds. Even so, I know people who've traveled from London to Liverpool to pick puppies a friend breeds.

Seems weird to me, maybe i'm just getting old.

OP we are not here to persecute, but your alarm bells must be ringing here on just how badly this could go and how it's not the most ideal way to do this. What type of dog is it?
Saving a few £ is only a short term problem. Save a bit more and do this properly, you will be glad in the long run

It's defo a scam. A well known scam at that. Always tons cheaper than pet should be.
