Petrol Advice

Ive never even considered before the difference between standard petrol, and "ultimate petrol". Last night i was in the petrol station which had sold out of standard petrol and was offering "ultimate petrol", usually 12p a litre more expensive, at the same price. So naturally liking a bargain i filled up.

what i dont understand is, what difference will it make?

thanks to anyone in the know

I asked the people at Honda...and they said it wont make any difference unless you own a supercar and it hasnt ever had 'normal' petrol in it, dont think my car fits into that category!

ofcourse others may know better :) and then theres the ones that fill up on company expenses and therefore may as well :p

What car and engine do you have?

To do with the 'octane' ratings.

Although suppose you might get a few extra miles to gallon but then you pay that bit extra per gallon.

+1 sporty cars normally use it.

Can't be much of a variation as cars have to run on pretty much the same specification everywhere

Unlikely to notice any difference at all.

Need to run it through your tank a few times. I found my car was quicker and ran smoother, but due to enjoying the extra power just made me put my foot down more. Not worth the extra cost really.
