hi I've bought a Nokia E5 recently locked to 3G.

I want to unlock it but 3G charge £15. So I searched online and found some Websites below. The top one Mr Unlock looks genuine I really want to buy the code from them. Does anyone know more about these companies they aren't some kind of scam are they?

http://www.mrunlock.com/
http://www.remote-mobile-unlock.com/?gclid=CLPk5d6xqagCFUFC4QodAVkWHA

The second one seems a bit suspicious as they charge such small amounts.

foneszone.co.uk are reliable, but youd have to check there price, you can take them to the highstreet and probs get it done for a tenner... spitroast is the man in the know with these things

you could actually ask to send your phone to him for him to do it and he only charges postage

i had an e71 locked to 3 and did it on the highstreet for a tenner, took 5mins id say there or just paying 3 £15 would be ur best bet

I'm not sure about now with these new phones lol but years ago I bought one of them softwares off ebay... did the trick on a few nokias, but when I tried it on my samsung d600 it wiped everything and didn't unlock it.

why? if none of the places we have reccomended and can unlock your phone then what makes you think mrunlock can do it?

if the others cant odds on they propably cant and mrunlock is scamming... this would be what i would think anyway, the e5 is probs one of these bb5 phones like the e71 which means they cannot be done by a remote code when locked to 3! best doing what i said in post 1 id say, but each to there own

I meant that I've checked your recommendations and they didn't do my phone. I'm not gonna choose mr unlock I've read some reviews and they like to con many and only some get their codes or refunds.
#7
I'm just a bit reluctant to get the local shop shop to do it as they might scratch my phone or do some other kind of nonsense.

exactly, if reccomended places cant do it, then one website with some scam reviews says it can alarm bells would be ringing for me!

they plug in a cable, and run a bit of software on there computer.. job done, will be the easiest 5 mins of ur life lol, they dont have to harm it or remove anything lol

so frustrating that 3G are charging me £15 for unlock, I'm just gonna buy some little sims that bypass the unlock process unless that's illegal or something.
#11
Lol oh my bro did his and they damaged the sim cover and took a while so I'm just a bit cautious from that! But yeah I'll have to insist they do it right there and then so I can be at ease...

you have to pay them first then they email you a password to use on the website along with your email address, then they email you the instructions on how to unlock your phone, you will need to make sure you can plug your phone into your pc via usb, follow the pdf file instructions and thats it really , took all of 10 minutes and it worked
payment is with paypal so you are covered, they also offer 100% money back if it doesnt work

Local shops as mentioned should be reliable, else why not look at eBay, being covered with Paypal protection if it doesn't work

apologies spitroast, as i said you would know best! that is often all they do though?? you pay for the cables and software which a fairly pricey and then charge a fairly standard commercial rate for doing the job... i dont object its great service i very much appreciate! obviously with all these smartphonea nowadays things are just gettign more and more complicated and obviously require other things doing to them.... surely the best bet is just fork out the £15 to 3 though right???

Hutchinson 3 unlocked my wife's SE for free, was end of the contract though so that might have helped.

30 days? No wonder the seller sold it a bit cheap!

Only problem is that when I phoned 3G they wanted the original contract holder to phone up to ask for unlock code not me for 'security reasons'. So now even phoning 3G seems out of the question! *sighs*.

Another thing is they mentioned something about this phone being needed to be sent in for repair not sure if that's exactly what I heard since I got the phone sealed.

Please don't suggest other people follow your stupidity. You paid for free software. If they can unlock IOS 4.3.1 with the latest baseband I will apologise, otherwise you were scammed.

how dare you call me stupid! i tried everything we could find on the net, cydia, redSn0w and others and nothing worked.
I paid a total of $30 which is what they charged for the lifetime membership when i joined,
If like me you cant find anyone or anything to unlock the phone then id recommend this site.,
dcx_badass
how about the OP send you the phone and you unlock it seeing as you are so flaming good at shooting your mouth off!
