Phones4U Pathetic Customer Service

Bought a £90 phone from their clearance section in May, only for it to arrive without a battery so I cannot use the phone. Also did not come in the original box and the item overall did not look brand new.

I emailed them on the day I got it and they told me that a replacement battery would be sent in 5 days.

2 weeks later I phoned about my missing battery and they told me it would be sent out immediately.

When nothing turned up I phoned them again in June and they told me that because 28 days had passed they cannot do anything about it. I now have to get my credit card company involved, I cannot believe how mickey mouse this outfit is.

That doesn't sound very good- surely if you've a copy of the original email you sent asking for a battery, it'll have the date you made the original enquiry? Phone and speak with a supervisor, if they won't help, ask to speak to their superior... you've kept to your side of the bargain from what you've said, and if you still have the email, you have proof of your enquiry.

Worth sticking this in the Phones4U feedback thread.

Sorry to hear that.

I have issues with Phones4u! Placed an order for a clearance phone 2 weeks ago that was cancelled. Order 2 cheap phones on Tuesday, so really should have been delivered Weds. No signs of phones, or email for cancellation. Rang them today, and there was just a message saying they were very busy and ring back later.

How can they be busy, if all the calls are being diverted?

ive had probs with Phones4u but i got a m8 off mine that works for them to sort my prob out

I just got a phone from these guys that is missing a charger.

I will not be buying from them again. I rang them up and they said they will send one out but I told them I'd rather have a refund, phone looks a bit preowned for someting that was sold as new. :x

Phone wasn't sold as new was it? You bought a clearance 2652 that was quite clearly marked as not new. Like I said in the other thread, shouldn't have come without charger but please don't spread lies about being sold a new phone when you were sold a used phone.

You SURE it wasnt sold as clearance?

Phones4U are the ones spreading the lies. Why claim their clearance phones are fully re-conditioned by their engineers and re-packaged as new when they are not?

They shouldn't even be using the words 'new' in the clearance section, 'pre-owned' or 'second user' would be more accurate.

Well we'll have to agree to disagree, phone was sold as clearance, good price for a good phone. Stop your whinging.

If I get a poor service from a poor company I will inform others, it is not an isolated incident as I'm not the only person who has reported this.

If the phone was good then yes, but a second hand phone advertised as new with a missing charger is unacceptable.

I'm not the only one who has had problems with this outfit and by the looks of it I certainly will not be the last.

If you received a bad service from a company I liked I would not put that much effort in defending them unless I knew for a fact they were flawless which you do not know.

I'm not trying to defend them, just pointing out that you lied, you said you bought it new, you didn't, it was a clearance item. Simple as that.

I did not lie, how was I supposed to know all the phones in the clearance section were second hand when they never mention it?

They state the items in the clerance section are fully re-conditioned and re-packaged as new. Well that's wrong as they are not packaged as new.

You lied when you said the phones in the clearance section were a 'good price for a good phone'. If they were a good price why are so many of us getting parts missing and receiving phones that we are not happy with?

Do you pack every phone yourself to be able to make such a claim?

You lie again, they tell you that the phones have been returned, therefore you knew that they were second hand.

Why do I need to pack every phone myself to make a claim that it's a good price for a good phone? You got a phone with £10 credit for £9.95 after quidco. Now that's 5p profit so it's a good price! Good phone? Well I like to think it's a good phone and presumably you think it's a good phone too as you ordered one?

He has every right to complain if he received a bad service.

They should mention the phones are returns on the actual page after you have selected the phone or label their clearance section more appropriately.

WHY LIE? WHY LIE? the phones were not clearly marked as not new.

Well I saw it quite easily, if you guys didn't then I'm sorry but it was quite clear to me when ordering that the item wasn't brand new.

These guys recently sent me a phone 3 months after I ordered it! A dispatch email or update about my order would have been nice.

And that's not the worse of it, the phone looks like it used to belong to Rambo, really poor condition, scratches on screen and scuffs on body.

Plus they cancelled quidco 3 months ago. I will certainly be avoiding all the phones in their clearance section and anyone who claims they are a 'good price for a good phone', needs to see the [email protected] they sent me before making such incorrect statements.

I cancelled my order for 2 phones on Wednesday.

This morning, a T-Mobile 1600 arrives via RM Next Day Special Delivery. It's pathetic - I cancelled!

Here's their freephone number if anyone wants to contact them about missing orders or refunds, 0800 0725 855.

Avoid their rip off 0870 customer service number.

Been waiting over a week now and still no sign of my charger.

Just got off the phone to them and they have told me one will be sent out.

I asked them what happened to the other one they allegedly sent and they told me they did not know! They said no request had been made, what a bunch of incompetent idiots!

Found some reviews for phones4u. It's shocking the way they treat some of their customers.

Carried out a credit card chargeback on phones4u as no charger received.

Credit card company was very helpful and told me as they received quite a few complaints regarding this company they processed it immediately.
