A number of girlies are planning a w/e away later this year and someone suggested one of those photographic makeovers but im not sure if they are any good? dont want to waste our money on something daft as we are all young mums who are far to sensible to waste money on tat. has anyone ever been on one, can anyone recommend a good value one to go for about 10-15 girls, or maybe could anyone suggest something similar.

From people I know that have done it, it''s a bit of a con. The photo's are quite expensive. Try googling a few site for prices. Whatever you do, enjoy! X.

I treated my twin daughters when they were 21 to a 'New ID' makeover by Burlingtons, in London. They used to feaure on Idealworld & occassionally QVC. They had a great day, makeover & photos. The photo's afterwards are expensive to buy, but as this was a one-off and they were photographed together, it wasn't too bad. The makeover tickets cost in 2004, £80 and the photodisc £450. But we have a lovely huge picture and lots of other pictures of them expertly done. And it was a very special day for them both.
You don't have to buy the photodisc if you don't want too.

My brother and his family bought a Photo Gift Pack from Debenhams, it included a photo session and 1 free 8"x6" photo with an option to purchase further pictures. They had a good 2 hour session with the photographer and he seemed happy with the results. A couple of weeks later they were called back to the studio to view the results, which were superb. He said the pictures were brilliant, then came the bad news. The photo packages started at £800 and went up to in excess of £2000, now my brother is fairly minted so he isn't bothered about cost, but he does like value for money. They tried to negotiate with the photographer but he wasn't for doing any kind of deal, they were prepared to pay up to £500 for a package of photos, but the guy wouldn't shift in any way.
All in all, they had a good time in the studio but be prepared for a shock when you come to buy the photos.

If you live near portsmouth I can give you the details of a very very very good Photo company. One does the makeup with her own company whilst the other is a photographer. They have joined there comapnies together. If u dont then... ive got a long drive :D
