Hi

I would like a little help on this image.... http://img4.imageshack.us/i/swimmer.jpg/

I need it blending the same way as this ... http://johndobsonroofing.co.uk/clean/images/header_bg.gif

If someone could do this, or explain how, I would be very grateful.. (if you could do it and explain, more the better as I need it doing ASAP) I've tried using layers, blending and gradient but couldn't get the blue - white fade

Many Thanks

It's very easy.

Put the swimming image in a background layer, create a new layer above and fill it with a colour-> transparent gradient.

but then you just get a straight line blend (if that makes sense!)

A quick flip later, and...

Alternate version with longer gradient:

You can set the direction of the gradient. You can also do fancy stuff using a feathered mask, if you're that bothered. ;)

There's not a lot of room for the gradient before her head disappears into the white... I'll have a go.
