Hiya all...

I've got a couple of jigsaws that I'd like to frame and put up. They've taken so long to do that I couldn't break them up without going insane!!!

I have tried clip frames but the thickness of the jigsaw means the front perspex keeps cracking and the last one crumpled into it's origonal 5000 pieces. So now I am looking to get real frames, set the jigsaw so they won't break and hang them on the wall.

After searching yell.com and a few other places I seem to be getting quotes around £50 mark wich seems a bit high for a frame... Any suggestions of frame makers, sellers would be greatly appreciated be it on or off line. Preferably in the Manchester area if the latter!!!

Cheers folks!

ikea
my daughter bought some very large frames from them for her final show and they looked great and were pretty strong

click photo was where a lot of the guys bought them for the collage photos but they were 30x20inches and cost £12.99
Failing that cant you put the clear stuff that you use on books before putting in a clip frame? or glue to a board? or would you want to remove the jigsaw later?

ebay - I had some custom made to my size and they were pretty cheap, they offer a choices of wood etc

see

stores . ebay .co.uk/Wychwood-Framing

I got mine from here, just emailed for a price with size of picture I had and type of wood I wanted.

Thanks for the feedback...

Just tried Ikea site and thought I'd cracked it for £20 but then realised it was slightly too small. Might try to get to an Ikea though over the weekend and then try getting in touch with the Wytchwood and Click Photo if nothing turns up... I'll let you know how things go.

In the meantime I'm more than open to further suggestions!

hello,

Try a jigsaw site such as

http://www.alljigsawpuzzles.co.uk/best_selling_jigsaws.htm.

I know how you feel I'm doing, what was the world's largest jigsaw 13,224 pieces. It's taking me so long there's now a bigger one 18,000.

Not sure if that site will have anything but they may know of something. In the past I have just used jigsaw glue on plywood/hard board....this is when I resort to being a women, it's a bit of board!!

I've seen the 18000 and I'm very worried it may come my way for Christmas, but at least it will save on buying wall-paper!

Well done on the 13224 by the way - Have some rep and thanks for the link. I'll have a good look through.
