PingTest.net - TEST QUALITY OF YOUR LINE

Are you getting what you pay for?

Test your internet speed at http://www.speedtest.net to see how it matches against what your paying for. Then test the quality of your line at http://www.pingtest.net

Both are simple, easy to use sites. Ping test is fairly new and offers you a grade system from A-F depending on the quality of your line.

Post up your results everyone
If you have bad quality or slow speeds its time to tell your ISP you want it fixed or your moving to another ISP.

It might very well be - it depends on how your ISP routes your traffic.

are you supposed to be getting 50mb?

this is one of the reasons i didnt upgrade straight away.

my 20mb gets 19-20 consistently, people were saying with 50mb
it fluctuates a lot, and its hardly ever in the high 40s etc

Are you connected via cable or wirelessly? With a 50mbit/s connection slower speeds could just as easily be down to a wireless link than the broadband itself.

I get:

Should be at 10meg but I turn my router off which stopped them upgrading my speed, you can forget me attempting to ring Sky
