Pioneer HTP-071 - Playing sound from TV's built-in Freeview HD.
I am having a bit of trouble with the Pioneer HTP-071. Now I am impressed, thus-far, from the sound quality I got from my PS3, but was unable to get any sound from the TV using an Optical cable.
I don't know if I was doing anything wrong or I just had the volume too low, but I couldn't hear a single thing and was completely unsure what input to set the A/V Receiver to.
Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrongly?

Jump to unread Post a CommentBy the looks of it you could be on to something there, I will give it a try, but I found menu settings asking if I wanted to use TV Speaker or External Speaker, and then I found a menu option asking what format I would like SPDIF (optical) output in (PCM/DD) and an adjustment for Audio Lag.
