Anyone ordered with them before? I placed an order on saturday and have received an email asking for

A copy of your driving licence, OR
A copy of your social security card, OR
A copy of your bank statement, OR
A copy of your council tax bill, OR
A copy of a recent utility bill.

Checked the official website and the information matches that (Although they dont make it clear until you search FAQs about security checks)

Dont really feel comfortable with this, and havent ever heard of a company doing this before now...

What a shame ... youre not obliged to buy. cancel the order kelly :)

Thats what I thought.....

Have contacted them asking why they need such a document, saying never heard of that before and wouldnt feel uncomfortable as could lead to identity theft - if they cant do the order without then I want it cancelled and I will buy elsewhere.
#3
bit strange, I wonder why they want those
#4
Dunno but they are not getting mine.

Have cancelled the order and ordered with Comet instead. Dont recommend people use that site

They did it to me when I ordered from them, but that was over 3 years ago, would expect them to have got rid of this...

When I did it, they wouldn't even accept a scan copy of bills etc, it had to be a faxed copy.

I did go to order something else a couple of years back and this time told them to stick the order because I couldn't be arsed to do the above.

I'm sure it loses some business for them...

what do they sell?

It used to be mainly Cameras, but now it's shot off in all gadget directions...

I was buying a camcorder

They now accept scan or fax, but they are not getting my details no matter how they let me send them!

how ridiculous, dont they trust their customers?!?
#11
Well I certainly dont trust them after asking me for that - could be used to steal identity or anything!

dont see why they need it anyway, never been asked for it before by any other site

I have bought from them a couple of times, havent been asked for id though...

I'm really careful now after being subject to id fraud recently.

Also annoying the instructions are in French and also a French powerlead although you are sent a UK adapter.

Maybe it depends on the amount you are spending, I (Or rather mum) was spending £400
