Viewing a property Monday at 6pm but its about 2 and half hours on train either way so spending the night in a bed and breakfast and coming back next day.

The issue is, that the fares are very up and down, sometimes you can book and get them for £5 single with railcard, sometimes its £20 single with railcard and this is advance tickets.

I have 3 options, I am going to my friends tiny freezing flat on Friday but want to come back Saturday or Sunday as cant handle a few nights there, but if I can handle a day more I can get a single ticket for £6.85 this is on a train that has no internet or charging facilities so I cant use laptop on the journey for a long period though it may last most of the journey.

Option 2 is come back to mine as planned and pay £3.35 fare back to mine then pay the £15 single ticket to where I am going Monday. Entire journey is about 2 and a half hours but about 45 minutes of that is waiting for connection and means I will be in Glasgow and can go for a drink or a walk around(or maybe a day out but will have a backpack and a laptop bag) and maybe get a later train. Also I will have a hour on train to use my laptop and not worry about draining its battery.

Option 3 is get the ticket from my friends town which costs £6.85 and get a day return to my friends as its the same train which costs £3.35 so total cost of £10.20 for a single but means a journey time of about 3 and a half hours. so a hour more than others plus means my laptop battery will last a maximum of 2 hours so will have an hour and a half doing nothing also it means If I leave even at lunchtime I will have a maximum of 2 hours around the town before I have to meet landlord.

The return fare is less so I would just get the quick cheap one back.

Hahaha no, but your post is way too confusing! Just go for the easiest option! It looks to me like you're only going to lose a few £ whichever you go for, so ask yourself whether it's worth the hassle!

Lol well to be easier I have 3 different ways to get to my destination.

Way 1 is stay at my friends house and I am visiting him anyway Friday but planned to come back Sunday, so the cost of the fare to come back on Sunday is £3.35, then on Monday means I have to pay about £15-£20 for a single fare to destination so would cost me about £18.35 at least

Option 2 is to stay at friends an extra night and then I only have a £6.85 fare saving me £11.50 just for staying an extra night but dont want to do this as friends house is quite claustrifobic as its tiny and its freezing cold, plus he only has a small ancient tv and a old pc etc so will be bored.

Option 3 is to come back to my house Sunday as planned and then catching the cheap train but having 2 tickets one for £6.85 and one for £3.35 so thats £10.20 plus the £3.35 from day before £13.55 but means a extra hour onto journet to save about £5

Cheapest way is option 2 which is £6.85 but means I have to stay somewhere I dont want to stay for too long.

Just go the way that's more convenient for you!! If you don't want to stay somewhere, don't! There's no need to be grumpy because you're cold/have no laptop for the sake of like £5!

Its mainly the cold lol I do mean absolutly freezing to the point even wearing a t shirt and a jumper you feel like its winter inside! but I may bear with it for the sake of over £10.

I dont mind my friends but its more somewhere you crash out tired after spending the day out of the house since the size of it means you cant do much.

I am just so used to my student place with inclusive bills so always very hot and being able to go into one of the spare rooms or living room when bored lol

I've read your post but can't be bothered to work everything out. One thing that did stick out though is that you said you would have 1.5 hours with nothing to do. Now, this might sound like a 'way out there' suggestion - but - what about reading a book? HTH.

The award for most confusing post ever. We are talking about ten pound here, if you are going to be freezing cold and bored pay the ten pound and get back to a nice warm house...
#11
Tl;dr

Bring an mp3 and read a newspaper or sleep on the train, why bring lappy if there's gonna be no power point etc

Don't stay in ur friends dingy cold flat pay more and be warm
#12
I'm laughing at the mention of cold, saying you wear a t-shirt & jumper and it still feels cold inside, don't be so nesh hehe

#15
if hes a friend does it really matter that he has a small tv and old pc..
Oh and you could take a jumper.
#16
I should mention that dont forget I have aspergers so have little attention span thats why I didnt want to take a book plus it means more clutter, and my friend wont be at his flat I have his spare keys since he is away, I am looking after it

£10 may not sound like a lot to many people but it is to others.

Though I am suprised people didnt read the paragraph since its not the longest thing to read lol.

Yep I did, where does it say your friend is not there?

Also don't think we haven't noticed you've deleted the section about the small TV and old PC.

:whistling::whistling:

busted

also stop going on about having to use the internet all the time, seems like you should have a break from it, if you can't handle a piddly 2 hour train journey without it

I havent deleted anything if I did it would mention time and date of editing, and also where did I say I wanted laptop for internet on train, I mentioned a bit about how one train has internet. I planned to use laptop for watching a dvd or playing a game.

The fact it has the internet was just a bonus i.e if I get bored I can check emails for something to do, and I can use plug socket to keep laptop charged which helps when I have about 45 minutes wait in station if I get bored I shouldnt have to explain things especially if you see what I say differently.

You said it yourself it doesnt say my friend is not there, so you assumed he was.

Lol fail there.

I just will get fidgety without something to do thats all.

whatever dude, so you're calling several people liars now, who all mentioned the FACT you had a statement refering to your friends small tv and old pc.

I assumed nothing, proper conversational etiquette would be to state your friend would incidently not be there, again several people mentioned your poor explaination,

don't move if you can't deal with it without posting on here.

Actually I did mention he had a small tv and old pc, I never said I didnt say that and so what I didnt mention my friend wasnt there, I said I was going to friends not that said friend would be there its not my fault you made assumptions.

Lol not my scene.

Just trying to think the most cost effective way since it will cost about £25 for B+B and with the return fare more like £50 just for viewing a flat.

your confusing yourself now

Nope I am not, Its just how you read into it

I never meant or said anywhere that it the tv and pc was terrible just old so they wont be the best i.e as said before the tv is blurry and as I wont be leaving the house much when I am there I need something to do!

I dont expect him to have a top of the range tv its just I feel uncomfortable in someone elses flat on my own.
