Just bought EA Sports Active Wii for my son's birthday from play.com. Received it today and it's all squashed because they've used no box, no bubble wrap, just a plastic bag - unlike the DVD box games…

Just bought EA Sports Active Wii for my son's birthday from play.com. Received it today and it's all squashed because they've used no box, no bubble wrap, just a plastic bag - unlike the DVD box games this comes in a cardboard box because of the accessories so it's very vulnerable to rough handling. Can't return it, it's his birthday tomorrow.

Any ideas how to complain to them?

(I'll stick to amazon next time, they've got their packaging and supply chain properly sorted

not sure but my EA Sports Active came the same way all squashed i would of thought play would of known better

all I can see on the website is their 0845 800 1020 phone number. Probably a good place to start.

Also, if you want to avoid using the 0845 number, you could try http://www.saynoto0870.co.uk/search.php
to search for an alternative number for play.com? may/may not be cheaper.

i ordered medel of honour back in august for the release in oct, i waited a week still nothing so i emailed they to which i got a reply addressed to a mr r frozen.
after a long wait on the phone they said they would refund the money. today my card statement came no refund, i phoned again after a lot of anger i got them to listen, ive still waiting for a refund.
a warning to ofters 'play.com' don't waste your time or money, and the customer service is a joke

I am experiencing similar problems with play.com just now. Ordered a book on 3rd November and was emailed saying it had been dispatched on 18th November. 3-5days passed and still no deliv so I emailed and was told to wait until 9th December. This came and went, still no delivery. So I called and was told I had to fill out a missing claims form which I would receive in 24hours and post it back which would take best part of a week. Called again as not at all happy with this and was told my refund would be processed there and then as long as I sent the form back by email. 5days have since passed and surprise surprise no sign of my refund! Desperately trying to find a way of speaking to someone in the UK! I work in a customer service call centre so know the lies they tell and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired!

Having the same problem lately - no customer support email anymore just online forms - which obviously don't get read properly and end up going in circles.
I read somewhere they've had a change of ownership and boy does it show!

Similar story, ordered on 18 Nov still wating on the 7th of Jan
Numerous emails and still no missing items claim form, refund or item.

I purchased a laptop and gave a specification and model number. My credit card was charged on 12/27. I did not receive the laptop for 10 days. The company refused to ship abroad even thought they say they do. I paid to have the laptop shipped to America where i was working. When the laptop arrived, i found that the user manual was missing, the invoices was missing, and most of all,
I WAS CHARGED £650.00 FOR A LAPTOP WHICH WAS A LAPTOP WITH SPECIFICATIONS, NOT WHAT I ORIDERED AND REAILED AT £459.00 AND WAS VPC EE3E0E. I WAS RIPPED OFF. WHEN I RANG TO ASK TO RETURN THE ITEM, I WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPANY REFUSED TO PAY TO SHIP. THIS IS DESPITE THE WEBSITE ADVERTISES WHICH SAYS "IF IT IS OUR FAULT WE WILL PAY FOR SHIPPING". I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. BUYER BEWARE.
MY COST ENDED UP FOR SHIPPING INCLUDED AND LOSS OF VAT AT £800.00
