has anyone else ever had the misfortune of dealing with play.com? bought a laptop from them a while ago and now its broke to but a long story short they asked for me to get an independent report for the fault as it is a known problem with the laptop. They keep asking for me to email them this despite them knowing i have no laptop!! Asked can i post it was told sorry we have no address to send it to. so asked where is customer case based to be told in banbury bt the same place as returns but i cant send it there as it wont get passed on to them. Took me a bloody hour to get a fax number make no wonder people give up. Sorry just had to vent but feel free to post horror stories p.s before any smart comments this is from my mobile not a pc

I ordered the nokia 5800 on sunday expecting it sometime this week and today the order turned into a preorder to be released on 26/1. Have emailed them but dont expect anything back... might cancel the order

Hp 6300 they said nothing wrong with it they know. Engineer says different effective nvidia chip thats been tweaked causing it to bow in the middle. Im not overly technical with laptops

what do you mean? have you contacted hp as they would arrange for collecion and repair it unles youve bought a refurb of some descriptio with no warranty outstanding.....ive just had a problem with my vaio bought thru play last feb and contacted sony and they took it to be fixed yesterday...dhl came and collected yesterday....not even bothered with play

Ordered headhones on the 22nd of december, arrived on the 24th - in the wrong colour.

Phoned up and they sent out the new ones straight away. Says that they were posted on the 27th.

Still not arrived :thinking:

still waiting for a tshirt despatched 20th December so reported it as lost on monday and still waiting for the email thats suposed to come within 24 hours deciding what they are going to do :x

I understand yours is a Compaq Presario 6300 laptop? See the following release from HP:

HP;
HP has identified a hardware issue with certain HP Pavilion dv2000/dv6000/dv9000 and Compaq Presario V3000/V6000 series notebook PCs, and has also released a new BIOS for these notebook PCs, version F.39 for dv2000/V3000, and version F.3D for dv6000/dv9000/V6000.


Since yours is a 6000 series you might qualify for FREE repair. If that is the case contact HP directly.

I don't blame them for asking the OP is so poorly written.

Try doing one from a mobile it will not allow spaces sorry we cant all be oxbridge educated like yourself. Have you thought about working for play? They seem to have many a vacancy for people who whilst up themselves are rather useless. match made in heaven i think

Thankyou and rep added but person i took it to said from what he knows with a repair the problem will occur again over time apparently nvidia taking a massive hit on a few chips.
