I ordered a game from Play 10 days ago, the item said dispatched within 4-5 days(still does), but is still showing as awaiting stock in my account. Since I ordered the price has gone from 17.99 to 34.99, does anyone know if play are in the habit of cancelling orders that have changed price? I feel like they might be wanting people to cancel orders or something?

They have a habit of being really slow from time to time - I ordered a mug from them and it took 3 weeks...

I've never had Play cancel an order on me... And I believe their policy (unless it's a gross misprice, which is doesn't look like, seems like a game deal or something?) is to charge the lowest price i.e. If you have placed an order and the price drops before it's dispatched, they charge you less. If it goes up, they charge the original amount.

It'll come, be patient ;) It can take a week or so sometimes, but I always keep the faith :)

yeah Play only cancel if they cant get item in...dont matter on price tbh

Play do what the hell they want, I had a rucksack ordered with them, it was in stock when i ordered then it changed to awaiting stock, then 3 months later they told me it was out of stock!
Play are useless, I would steer clear of them at every cost because you can never trust them to provide what they advertise and their customer service is just as bad.

I don't think the item was a misprice, although they did hike the price up the day after I ordered. lol..

Hopefully they won't cancel it then, will just have to sit tight and hope they honour the order.

Just spoke to them about a missing item and a return...

missing item refunded, return sent out this morning

Then I think you have been very lucky, I never ordered a great deal with them but I have used them for a long time so I have witnessed first hand how as the company has grown they have become more unreliable and less customer orientated.

My last two transactions with them have not been completed and their customer service has been nothing short of awful. Once I have used the credit note up they gave me then I will never use this company again.
Problem is using the credit note, they are more expensive on everything!

I haven't had any problems with them in the past, but I've never ordered something that has almost doubled in price the next day.. lol

don't want to take over the thread-but anyone got a number or email for them. I've had 3 separate orders saying differing things since Oct & Nov-one DVD, one cufflinks and one WII game-but can't work out how to contact them-only questions and answers!

I'm not sure i'd use them again.

I have ordered hundreds of items from Play and only had to phone up twice and 1 of those times was because play had been to efficient as they had refunded an order that went missing instead of replacing the order as I had requested.

I have dealt with far worse CS, like BT, CPW, Ebuyer (sometimes) mymoviesstream

After the television debacle i refuse to order from them,i even complained in writing and never heard a thing,i suppose everyone has different experiences to tell,good and bad.:x

yes! they'll repeatedly show it as posted then when you complain enough times they'll say its out of stock or some other ****** excuse...

Also if you go to Order History - hit VIEW DETAILS it opens a page with order date etc on...


at the bottom of the page it says [COLOR=blue]>I have not received my Play.com Order[/COLOR]

[COLOR=black]If you click on this it goes to another page asking if you want a refund or a replacement and which addy to send it too so you dont have to speak to anyone...just a couple of clicks :thumbsup:[/COLOR]

Try it...you dont have to complete it but I think it has to be before 28 days..not sure
