I had ordered the Targus bluetooth adapter for 4.99 from Play.com and they charged me for the same on the very date of the order. The product was in stock but after some days my acount started showing it is out of stock. When I called them after 10 days, they were just apologising for the same and said they would refund the money.
They haven't refunded the money in 2 days but they were very prompt in charging the same.
I don't think they can keep my money for so long if they didn't even have the stock. Can I take some legal action ? What is the easist way to do so ?
Pls help. thanks.

It can take up to 7 working days for funds to reach your bank account, that's what is probably happening just wait a bit. :thumbsup:

I'm with him, i doubt play will scam you out of 4.99:S.

Some people seem to quick to want to rant and rave at anything these days to see what they can get out of it, like some sort of compensation.

I can imagine stock levels displayed on most websites are not always accurate and if they come to yours and have sold out what should they do, magic up another one?

As Ade above says refunds can take time so just be patient, it's not like Play really needs to rip people off by £5

I agree £5 isn't worrth it, but it is the principal
Alot of company's do this and are making alot of money out of the interest.
It's not right that they do it, but on the other hand its not really a loss to you.
they are just playing the system, who wouldn't in there shoes?

See http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ or call them depending on where you live. Basically they are a centralised Govt Trading Standards. The advice is very good and doesnt cost you anything apart from the call.

Like m623d said, its not about £5.00 its about principles. If the stock was not there, why did they charge my account ? Shouldn't they atleast wait for a couple of days if they know that they have these system update problems ? And not only this, I checked and found that the same Bluetooth is available but from a different supplier and the price on that one is 10.00 I guess. They should atleast honour their commitment and send me one of these. Any other decent website would have done that. I am done with play.com.

Ordered one too.Took money out next day.Play account said posted 20/06. Still not here.
Play account now says processing.
Will probably get a refund if they have none left.
