yeah I got one too, first thought it was spam so checked on here. Hmm, this is a concern if its more serious than just our email addresses. Well a pretty massive concern
#27
I got one too.....
#28
Well I will never, ever use Play again, this is the end for me.
#29
Yep i got one also
#30
Yeh I got this email through. I'm not sure if it is genuine or not.
You get so many of these emails and scams a day it's just making it difficult to judge what is real or not. Makes me feel sick that your details can end up in the wrong hands even though you are extra vigilant.
#31
I've not got one, used play for years, but I don't subscribe to their emails, which is possibly why I didn't get one. As long as you use a decent card provider for your online stuff and you keep an eye on what goes out, what's the problem? Complaining about this kinda thing is like going swimming then bitching that you got wet. It's the internet, there will be hackers, there will be fraud, all you can do is your best as a company to try and prevent it. All you can do as a customer is make sure you use a card provider who will refund you for fraudulent activity without too much hassle.

It's **** but it happens.

yep also got mine oO

No big deal, it's just your email address. Expect some more spam. Everyone uses an email account purely for putting in websites anyway don't they??

...A further complaint is that it is not possible to delete credit card details from Play.com's site, even on request – which means that if its payment database were breached then it could expose many thousands of people's details to criminals.

However Play.com has responded to customers who have expressed concern about credit card details or passwords for transactions on the site by saying that "our database is maintained on a secure internal server that is not connected to the internet".

The details are all printed off & re-typed into a terminal attached to the "internal server" then deleted from the order database used by their web site.

When you see your details on the web site pages (connected to "the Internet") they have been re-typed really quickly by specially trained hamsters (perhaps even andywedge when he is not posting deals for Play.com) using typewriters with special ink that disappears when another page is loaded.

I didn't realise you couldn't remove credit card details form Play.com until now.

Time to try to disprove that...

Best of luck, they told me the only way to delete your card details is to close your account.
