Personally I wouldn't be posting any pictures of my young children on a public internet forum where any weirdos could be looking on.

Tips? A bit vague that lol
What kind of tips are you looking for? Photo retouching?

the problem ive had is when cutting a picture using the magic wand to select stuff. it usually selects more than what i want it to if that makes sense lol

All depends on what you want to achieve with PP.

Do I honestly need to spell it out for you.

I'm only trying to be helpful here, but this site plus it is open to public viewing. Unless you know everyone personally that checks these forums then you should be careful about posting pictures of young children.

I have a kid myself and I would never post any pics of him on the web. You can't be too careful in this day and age. But at the end of the day its your choice.

ok mate. advise duly noted, although personally i can't see any harm here. would you like to troll through every picture of a child on the internet and post how perverted it is?

It does make sense.
What you need to do is adjust the tolerance. You'll find it near the top when you have the wand tool selected.

The lower the number is, the less similar colours it will select. (Smaller range)
The higher the number is, the more more similar colours it will select. (Larger range)
Have a play.

Extra Tip: If you hover your mouse over the word 'tolerance', a hand with an arrow though it will replace your normal pointer.
If you now click and drag to the left or the right, it will increase/decrease the number in the box. Useful when you don't want to type it in.
This tip can be applied to many numerical input boxes in Photoshop, saves lots of time and often shows you instant previews. Keep you're eye out for the hand and the arrows!

Photoshop CS3 is brilliant. The same with Flash CS3/Illustrator CS3, all these new toy bits to fiddle about with!

I made this back last year, I'm still very proud of it! http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/hirokistar/geisha.png

Very nice, some good vector work there, like the branches in the back.

It took me a few weeks because I was brand new to illustrator, but I recommend it to anyone but you must look up tut's or you will be completely lost. It started out as just a scan and I worked my way through it. The printed version looks alot brighter
