I wonder, because I have 2 PS4's (1 in my room and 1 in the living room) if I download all my games to the external hard drive to use in my room upstairs and then decided i had a game on it want to play with my brother in the living room.

Could I essentially unplug it and plug it into my other PS4 and continue as normal? If someone had an idea about it, please let me know otherwise I have to try an answer my own question when I get chance to update and play on the PS4

I was hoping that they sorted the CEC issue out with the VR Box, it seems to strip it when connected.. also does the HDD attached have to be USB 3.0? or can you attach a 2.0?

I doubt very much that will work. Individual PS4 & PS3 are linked to the HDD, eg swap the HDD and it has to reformat and I expect external drives to work in a similar fashion (except the format bit :D).

Of course I could be wrong and certainly give it a go.

Cheers for info, I'll try do it tomorrow depending what time the update is out as I'm out all day near enough, if not I'll try Saturday and see what happens, doesn't make all the difference because I could buy another hard drive if needs be but rather know so I don't have to fork out for one

Here are some comments from people in the 4.50
http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2017/02/07/ps4-update-4-50-beta-can-use-one-external-hdd-time/

Apparently you can use it on another ps4 as long as you are using it whilst logged in as the original owner (if that makes sense). Only one HDD can be tied to that user though.
Seems a very good implementation.

I'm personally looking forward to trying out 3D Blu-ray on the PSVR

Looking forward to boost mode on PS4 Pro. I am wishing I hadn't ripped that caddy apart to fit a 2TB drive internally!!
#9
Any good deals on 4 / 5tb drives ?

Sounds good to me! I'm only person on both PS4's so ideal for me, can invest in a bigger hard drive instead of having 2 separate ones

#12
Can we move game/app tiles around yet?

Here's the link to the PlayStation Europe page:

https://blog.eu.playstation.com/2017/03/08/ps4-system-software-update-4-50-is-out-tomorrow-heres-everything-you-need-to-know/

"PS VR will now support Blu-ray 3D* discs. You will have the ability to watch them in stereoscopic 3D via your headset."

I 'think' that's a known issue with the Pro and has been happening to people for a while now :(

Not to be confused with the black screen when firing up the pro for the first time with a 4k tv, another known issue!

I'm working from home, so was able to do the install earlier. So not had a chance to test any of it yet.

Plus my blu-rays are at my folks place at the moment, so need to pop round there and grab my 3D Blu-rays :D

Yeah my cousin does the same.
Like when I play horizon normally within 10 minutes it black screens and then may happen again.
Then it's fine until I turn it off.
It did black screen and went white the the other day and I had to pull power plug out as I ain't got a clue where the standard on/off button is :D

Do you have PSVR by chance? Just wondering if it's the breakout box that could be the issue

Oh and the power button, there is a thin strip running under the middle tier of the console. The left hand edge is the power, right hand next to the usb ports is eject for the blu-ray drive :)

The little box all the leads go in. Try running the PS4 without it plugged in. I tend to only have mine hooked up for VR, as that box doesn't pass through HDR (I won't even go there about why Sony did that..)

But I've just seen on reddit, someone claims they don't get it now since the update today

Mine was worse like twice so quick together.
Yeah I'm gunna disconnect it cause when the psvr is plugged in a lose an option under the 4k which looks better..Can't remember excatly what it is but the bottom 4k option.

***Thanks for the advice as well marcoos appreciate it.***

Yeah you'll lose HDR and also it's only RGB, not yuv or whatever it is when it switches to HDR. It can be a pain, but only way to get HDR gaming goodness
