Don't know the boy in question or the family so don't know what they would like (my son's classmate)

Anyone seen any good deals around so I can get more for my money? :-D

Or any failsafe presents anyone can think of?

Any suggestions greatfully received! x

I always pop to Tesco's for these sort of gifts. There always a good selection there for under £10.

I find at this time of year the outdoor toys go down pretty well - especially water soakers/pistols and sports sets etc... Most of the supermarkets have a good selection of them too, so they're easy to get and for a tenner you'd be able to get a couple of really good sets

you could just give him a £10 note. my kids love it when they get money for birthdays

ARGOS, and other places, do a grow it kit thing - goes down a treat with girls or boys. I bought a lad the jungle one, and his sister the fairy one. (They were four years old, but their mum said they loved them and were competing like mad to grow the best stuff!)

You could ask his mum?
I would much rather be asked and offer suggestions to people. My son is 5 and he is really fussy!! and theres nothing worse than getting a whole load of stuff that doesn't really get used/liked for birthday!
If you're going to spend a whole £10 then might as well find out what he is keen on first if you can.
