Please can someone help me with finding hand luggage for Ryanair flight pleeeeeeeease xx

I'm off on my hols in less than 2 weeks but am struggling for luggage. I'm only booked as taking hand luggage and have one case that is the right size. Thing is there will be three of us, me and my 6 and 4 year old. I've found a pink case is Tesco the right size but could do with a holdall type one to put on my shoulder for when I have to hold my little girls hand up and down stairs - I'll never manage 3 cases! I'm really struggling to find one the right size which is 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Does anyone kow where I can get one close to that size (no bigger) at a reasonable price.
All help will be much appreciated and rewarded lol xx

Hi Hannah
If you go onto ryanair site you can purchase a hand luggage case that fits their sizes! Don't know-how much though. You can take a hodall as long as it can be squashed to their acceptable sizes, I take a bigger sized bag than they state but make sure I can squash it to the sizes if I have to, and ive never had a problem last year or this year! Hope that helps stu

i got scales at home and it was nearly 3kg, and i am not taking any chances with sizes, i cant afford the excess if they are fussy, i know 2 people who have flown this year and they said they are really fussy, but they going away at same time so using there bags - grrrrrrrrr

They stopped a guy infront of me last year and he opened his bag and put loads of clothes on - was wearing about 6 T-shirts lol just don't wanna risk it - just incase

I agree sassie; it is definitely worth being within the guidelines. Sometimes they check the dimensions and sometimes not, similarly the weight. I have seen people - quite a few - sent back to check in bags as hold luggage over the past year and at Bergerac they had scales and one person had to do hold luggage again there. They are red hot on only one piece of hand luggage per person, so hand bag has to go in as well.

Hannah, Crewsaver Bute Dry Bag 40ltr. Maximum fill, minimum weight. Also make a great day bag for the beach (keeps out water and sand). Costs about £22 delivered but you will probably lose it before it falls apart. Most good sailing shops stock this brand if you want to go have a look first.

This is what you need. Right size, lightweight. I got the one with wheels. Brilliant bags.

If you end up paying out for a bag is it not just more worthwhile to have 1 case checked in between the 3 of you? Still have one hand luggage and then pop all the other stuff in the check in case - at least that way you can pack toiletries too.

What is it now for check in luggage £16 each way? so £32? A bag could cost you £20 plus you would then have to pay for toiletries suncream etc when you get there which depending where you are going could be expnsive.

This is what me and my partner did when we went to rome this year with Ryan air and it was so beneficial as they were being strict with people with hand luggage when we got there.

Without looking Shelly i believe the checked baggage prices have just gone up. Plus it's so much less hassle to not have to check a bag in :)

Thanks C :) That shows what i heard on the news applies to call centres then but not when booked online. I bet it's only a matter of time though.

How much makeup do you take?:? All you need is a couple of lippies and eyeliners and a mascara. When I go on holiday with hand luggage I take shampoo, shower gel and sun cream in sachets.

I think you were right - they have an option for a first bag at £15 BUT it's £20 in July and an ordinary 20 kg bag is £30 each way!

We never dream of checking in hold luggage!

Plus Hannah already has the pink Tesco case, which is what would be replaced by hold luggage, so she still needs a holdall.

The I litre allowance for lotions and potions of not more than 100ml each is quite a lot!!

Urgh couldn't cope with sachets! I wash and condition my hair everyday! Plus I need mouse, straightening protecter and hair spray. Foundation, lipstick, and mascara all take up the liquid allowance!
