the only prob i can see is the graphics card, its a bit on the low side, but should run it but not as good as if it was of a higher spec maybe

do you think the graphics card can handle it as its on board ?
#5
What motherboard is it??
You are going to run it in medium detail so it should be able to hack it

I had to upgrade my gfx card to run COD4 & got a Nvidia 8500GT 512mg (£47 last summer)
Its the cheapest card that supports Direct X10 (needed for Vista)

Your onboard graphics will be taking processing power from the CPU to run it,

Get an external graphics card PC world were doing the 8800GS for £50 bargain!

Your graphics card is letting you down get a new one :)

The geforce series is better the higher the second number

What Graphics Card would you suggest for around £40-£60
#10
The motherboard is good enough. Running in medium detail should be fine on your current setup. Its always worth trying and if not just buying one.

8800GS from PC world if they have any left

That graphics card is nowhere near good enough to run crysis but you could run COD4 at low settings,To run Crysis you need to spend around £80 on a graphics card and even then you will only be able to run it on low to medium

so if i brought another card it would SLI my 8200 with what ever card i brought ?
#15
You can buy a 8400 and run Sli but i think it still would not be as powerful as buying a HD4670 or a 9600gt,If you are not in a rush today i will have a look for your best options and get back to you.
#16
You would get hybrid SLI. So yaeh it would combine the both but its not as good as having to external cards.

That for Crysis but this doesn't mean it would be playable on my graphics card

Use the HDMI port. Reason being is when you are not using a graphics based program it will shut your graphics card down and use your onboard. Also if you use the graphics card's DVI port you will not be able to use the hybrid SLI function
#21
The test shows it does pass but will not run as smoothly as it should. probs be a bit slow at loading graphic details.
#22
iv just install crysis and tryed it on medium detail totally unplayable, it just about manages in low detail

What resolution are you using? Maybe try to lower the resolution to get a bit better settings.

But as everyone else has said the problem is the graphics card. I would say that with that card CRYSIS will not look very good.

Just to give you an idea how the nvdia graphics cards models work.

The lower the second set of number the lower the spec of your card. (In your case the 200 says it all) You have the lower spec of the 8000 series

So if you were to upgrade to a 9200 for example again you will be in the same boat the lower spec of the 9000 series.

So looking it this way the 8800 is like the top of the range of the 8000 series which is a lot better than a 9200 but the 8800 might not be as good as a 9600 for example.

So the comparison goes like to like 8200 with 9200, 8600 with 9600 and 8800 with 9800 and then if you add the letters it gets a lot more complicated. (i.e. 8800 GT - 9800GT and 8800GTX and 9800GTX and so on)

I hope my comment helps you a bit rather than confusing you.

Looking at Sli perfomance ,The best card you can add is the 8500gt which will cost you around £40 but this will still be around half the performance of a Hd4670 or 9600gt however you would be able to use you onboard HDMI,If you buy another card most come with a HDMI adaptor but it is worth checking the specs to be sure,The cheapest i can find doesnt say HDMI in the spec but i am pretty sure it has it,http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?nov-4670
I would say the 4670 is the very minimum to run crysis and a 4850 would be even better.

No thanks i dont have to cash just yet i would offer £40 Saturday

The 3850 is pretty much identical to the 4670 performance wise but the 3850 uses quite a bit more power so would need a 400w PSU minimum and maybe even more

Are you sure? It's normally on the back of them manual. But essentially you need to buy the game, as it is the cd key you pay for and the license so without that you have a coaster. Unless you want to pirate that. In which case do your own research. It is illegal to do this though.
