how about contacting your local newspaper and radio station and asking for local help?
#2
you could try posting on your local freecycle

Have you tried contacting your local welfare rights dept. They may be able to help and your health visitor should be able to help guide you too.

Sorry, can't help but just wanted to say how sorry I am for your parents. Sounds like they could do without all this hassle. Mardyass' advice sounds great, why not contact the local paper?

I'm really sorry to hear about your parents' situation.
Is it worth considering eBay for sponsorship? I don't mean selling off items, but asking for sponsorship for walks or runs etc... It reaches 000's of people a day, and we raised loads when we put one up.

best thing

just looked on web for you regards charities - be so careful as there are a lot of scams out there

this one sounds ideal - they might give ideas and help

http://www.kidney.org.uk/campaigns/Press-Media/nkf-press-feb05.html

there are lots of trust funds you could try - accessing the info is the difficult part

main library in city or town should have data base

best wishes to your family

Also check the patient website, we discovered my mum was entitled to lots of benefits as well as her free prescriptions, like a reduction in her council tax by one band

Glad that things seem to be moving in the right direction.
Also, the social services should be helping to provide assistance.
Badger on the phone until you find the right person who can coordinate a care package. Acecatcher3 on here might be able to help a bit to point you in the direction - he works with care packages for the aged, I think. I don't think he'll mind me saying that.

yeah, if ur looking to get some extra help ring up ur local council and ask for a social care assessment to b made, social workers will go to ur fathers house and assess his needs then they will be able to talk you through some possible care options for you and your family. If you need any advice in terms of care packages for ill or elderly people, feel free to pm me.
