Your t.v. is telling you that it doesn't want to watch football.

It's a bit of a long shot, but there's a small outfit called B Smart in Crawley.

They refurbish and resell catalogue and warranty return TVs, mainly Philips, JVC and Hitachi. They deal primarily with the trade, but they have no problem dealing with us peasants as well

I was in there just before christmas and saw a TV with very similar symptoms.

Can't remember the make, but it was a known failure, to do with internal ribbon cables being just a little tight and not being seated quite properly. With the thermal cycling over time, these worked loose - not much, but just enoughto be a problem with some pins.

Dunno if they'd be of any use.

My husband says " tv's knackered and on its way out. same thing happened to his toshiba and panasonic. It needs servicing but basically will have to be replaced depending on how old it is. its not a problem that can be fixed economically, but the set should be replaced if still under warranty"

B&C Insurance covers "accidental" damage usually? :whistling:
