Hi sorry its me asking for help again!

I had a dropped kerb completed on my property and unsure whether they have actually finished or not so I rung the council and they said it should be done. But they placed a plank of wood between my drive and the kerb and there is a gap between the two so am confused whether the council still have to complete the rest or not. So I rung the council and was told that I have to get a builder in to take the wood out and complete the rest etc.... I have attached a photo and would be so grateful if someone could tell me what I should about this; should I do it myself or get back onto the council?

I would be very grateful for any help or advice anyone could give me!!

Thanks so much!

they must come and finish it, they cannot expect you to pay someone else to finish what they have already been paid for..... get them rung again..

Phone them back and tell them that they have left it as a trip hazard and you are just making them aware that if someone does indeed trip they are liable.

If they fail to sort it out soon then go to your local A+E and do a deal with someone who has a broken leg/arm etc..

Tell them to put a claim in and go halves, I know someone who did a similar thing and got awarded over £3,000

Can't say I agree with them but they hadn't rectified a certain known crack in a pavement for years...!!!

Do what Den38 suggested. Just make them aware you could sue them if someone fell over. Should speed things along nicely.

hiya guys thanks for the replies!!

I have done what you have suggested and have rung again and explained again and he said he will come out today to have a look at it, not sure what there is to look at though because surely that would have been part of the job anyway, but at least hes coming out to look at it which is a good start. will update you guys when he comes round!!

thanks rep left for you guys!
