Awwww, that's sad - when I was young this girl stole my cuddly toy and many tears ensued, but I remember my Mum coming back from a shopping trip a few weeks after the incident with a new cuddly toy which looked similar to the first one and telling me that 'he fell off the shelf, into my arms' and that she had to buy him. I believed for many many years and came to love the second one just as much.

If you can't find a replacement then maybe a shopping trip will be called for and let him choose a new one.

Seriously, the 'he fell off the shelf into my arms and chose to come home with me' worked a treat!! As a child you have this faith that everything your mum says is true

Aye but nowadays you'd only get away with this DS fell off the shelf and into my arms.

Can he remember where he last had it? Could give the place a phone or go back and look.

Hope you find one, they get attached to things. My sister has a Winne comforter http://www.vividimaginations.co.uk/media/SS09%20Images/Preschool/Disney/WTP~3D%20Comforter~hr~product~app~DP83003C.jpg and even though we bought a replacement exactly the same, incase the original was lost, she won't even entertain it, she knew it was different. Fortunately though, minus a few scares, and trips back to shops, the original hasn't been lost yet, and she's 2.

I remember a story a few months back where a child lost their toy on a shopping trip and Mum couldn't find it for days, and when Gran happened to be shopping in TKMaxx she found the toy on the shelf with a price sticker on! Turns out it had been dropped in the store and one of the TKMaxx employees stuck a price sticker on it and popped it on the shelf.

Oh this is really sad. My daughter had a dog called woof woof and I accidently put it in a charity sack collection when she was about 4. She is nearly 15 now and she still hasn't forgiven me I regularly get reminded when we see a similar toy in a shop. I did buy her a replacement but she never took to it.

Oh No!!!!!! you must have felt soooooooooooooo bad!!!!!

Years ago we were on holiday in Turkey and we discovered when at the airport that we had left "pebbles" his teddy at the hotel - no chance of getting there as about to board the plane. When we got home first thing we done was call the hotel and organised his return - well they asked for our email address as well - and a couple of hours later we received pictures of Pebbles lying on a sunlounger with shades on  and another with him floating on a sunlounger - was just brilliant of them to do that. We told our son that Pebbles wanted to stay on for a few days longer loool. He eventually arrived back via the postie:-D

Looks a bit similar to the dog BHS did this Christmas called Dudley ??? Couldn't unfortunately part with ours but may be another avenue to try if appropriate

we were thinking along the same lines but seems a look a like is out of the question. We have seen other children on a few occasions with exactly the same dog so hopefully someone on here may have it lying around, thats what were hoping for anyway.

Thanks. I think he would have taken it better if it was me that had gone missing. He could have started a new thread, Wanted - New Daddy

I know this is a bit late, but there is a new one on ebay at the moment.

If you miss that one but still get the comment then it may be helpful to know that it was made by The Cuddle Crew, Leeds, LS11 5AD

Hi,

My little army soldier has lost his dog aswell and believe this or not it's the same as your son's dog, did you ever find a similar replacement, if not you could try ebay and type in asda soft toy.

Chris
