WHY WOULD YOU IMAGINE THIS WAS THE RIGHT FORUM?

Return on the 9th means first day of work is the ninth.
#2
well its a misc forum for miscellaneous queries etc & as this isnt a deal, for sale or feedback etc etc, then misc forum is probably about the most appropriate for the OP to post her query.

And yes, Op, the first day of work as recommended on the Sick note should be the 9th.

Yes return to work on the 9th unless he is still unwell and needs another note in which case he would needs to go to the drs on the 8th to ask for another note. If he was to leave going back to the drs until the 9th and the dr says he is fit to work he will lose a day

Why not? Should she have posted it in "deals"??:?

The doctor, when he/she wrote it probably intendid it to mean last day of sickness is 9th (as it's a Friday) and expected your hubby to return on the Monday, as that's how it is usually treated, But strictly speaking he should be there bright and breezy on the 9th.
I'd phone the employer with the phrase "I've got a sick note that runs till the 9th" and take it from there. If employer says "See you on Monday" then that's their call.

My mistake I assumed a site called hot deals would be for deals and similar stuff.

The sick note says return on the 9th and so your entitlement to sick pay will end on the 8th. If the employer says see you Monday they will be misleading you (and quite stupid too).

Self cert for the 9th???

What I mean is the employer (not being stupid) might think "what's the point of coming back for one day"??

Oh. And please check every other thread in HUKD's misc section. Just so you get the idea:thumbsup:

Thats the name, This is a forum, This forum has a MISC section, if you look, misc is 0.01% deals, and 99.99% garbage. So get used to it or **** ***

That isn't a very helpful attitude towards someone who has acknowledged their mistake.

No, you can't self cert for one day at the end of an absence. It would definitely make you ineligible for SSP for the 9th if you didn't come in. I guess the employer could choose to pay you but that would be can open worms everywhere...

I've had look and I can see the misc forum is wide ranging in its' topics
