Please help with a couple more DSTT questions?

Hi,

bought a DSTT from another member here for my 10 year old son, brilliant piece of kit. Now my Father and Nephew want one. So I was going to get the following through dealextreme. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10289

(i) I've heard rumours about this blowing the "fuse" in the NDSL is that true?
(ii) I was thinking about an 8gb card, would this size be ok or would they be better off with 2 x 4gb? How much space should I leave for games saves, etc?
(iii) What are your opinions/experiences on a 5 or 6 year old child using this, do you think it's easy for them to navigate?

Many thanks for any help,

Lee

Save all the speculation, and get an Acekard 2

Forget an 8GB card unless you are planning to have a few films on there to watch. 2GB is okay, 4GB is a reasonable price now, so I am getting these for friends more often now.

If they can use a DS, they can use a flashcart.

My 5yr old and 8yr old can use them no probs. Go for the 8GB. They're so cheap and we've "backed up" nearly 150 games and only used 2/3rds of the capacity.
Fuse blowing has never happened to me.

my son is 7 and we've had these for a while, he can use it with no problem. i would buy it from focal price as deal extreame have mixed recommendation some say they are genuine and other say fake, ive had loads of problems with deal and only use focal price now, Ive ordered 10 with focal price and only one wouldnt work, emailed them and they sent a replacement which arrived before i sent the faulty one back, Deal extreame are a nightmare if theres a problem with a product, I have bought loads with them and had a few faulty items , its hit and miss if they change them but they dont refund ( still waiting for one after 6 months)

Do you have a link to focal price? cannot find it?

Take the Saint's advice! AceKard2 is a lot better than the DSTT. I've tried both and it's well worth the extra few dollars.

I've never had any problems with dealextreme other than the occasional slow delivery. Their customer service is a bit slow but considerably better than several UK based companies I've dealt with in the past. They're also extremely cheap.

The link you want is www.focalprice.com.

Ditto, WTF is focal price please?

Cancel that, thanks tony_s1

How easy is the acekard2 to use?

Do you literally copy the roms onto the memory card and then stick it in the DS and use?

Will it work with the old fat DS as well as the DS lite?

thesaint has wrote a brilliant manual on how to set it up and yes you just drag and drop the games on to the memory card and it will play in both a Nitendo DS's!

In my opinion, they are no different.

On other forums that I go to, Japanese made Kingston are constantly considered the best.
The bigger the card you use, I guess that it becomes important.
