If you want to report a thread on HUKD that is offensive or spam, please click the abuse button - http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/images/custom_buttons/report.gif This contacts all available mods online at that time.

Please do not post in the thread, as it just encourages other to read it etc... and then when one of the mods removes it, if you are in the middle of posting, it will create a new thread with the same title...

There are some nutters about.
I learnt some new words this morning on here.
Glad the mods are keeping it proper, good work.

That's what happens when we run an open board, lots of spam :D Luckily we have some fantastic mods and lots of members that report the posts to help us out.
#6
Us mods get alerted immediately when a post is reported so just to echo what's been said above, please do not hesitate to report a listing to us as we check out each and every alert usually within minutes:)

Yeah, even if you're unsure about something, report it anyway. It does no harm to have one of us check it out :)

I find that if you report something then click 'who's online' you can normally see which MOD is 'checking' the reported post out.
Andy and Emma normally say thanks and that is nice. http://img.moneysavingexpert.com/smilies/sport-smiley-001.gif

Ah but Emma, i reported abuse on a thread that had a link to a website which inturn sent 3 trojans to my computer (luckily i had really good firewall etc)
I put a post in to tell people not to click on the link, so sometimes it might be good to put a quick post in warning other HUKD users.

I cant imagine what it could have done to someones computer if they hadnt had antivirus, firewall etc. in the time of reporting the abuse and a mod seeing the thread it could have reached a few users computers.

Fair enough in that case, yes, by all means post a note to that effect.

But we had a problem yesterday where a spam thread was listed during the day. When I removed it, members here were in the process of posting in it, and when they click submit, and the original thread is gone, it creates a new thread by our member, with the rude/inappropriate title. The same thing happened 4 times in a row, new threads kept being created as people kept posting and I kept removing. So that's why I suggest that :)

Oh i didnt know that happened, was in my bed all day yesterday coz im on nightshift :lazy:
