"If you ask some credible artists such as Sweet Baboo, Liz Green, King Creosote, Patrick Duff, The Antlers, Angel Olsen, Slow Dive, Antony Hegarty, Sharon Van Etten, Mogwai, MBV etc...hey even ask Thom Yorke again so he can bring some of his mates from Four Tet, Jon Hopkins, Burial, Flea, and Nigel Godrich to produce an exciting dance version"

My point exactly - I bet you've heard of half of the rubbish which is on the record, but not some of these bands. Many of which are up and coming and creating new, interesting music. Others have been around for a long, long, time but get ignored in favour of X Factor trite

But are these unheard of artists going to make people part with their cash in the name of charity?

I think not.

I think that it needs a lot of "pop stars" to ensure that it sells in volumes however your right about Bono though.....

He doesn't like Mondays apparently.

How about inviting the original artists that recorded the song, re-release that version. It would be cheaper, easier and at least it would sound better than this rubbish!

He doesn't like Mondays apparently

Tell me why ;)

Anything would be better than this years pop stars version.

Can we have a petition to stop them ever releasing it again?.

Here is a suggestion:

Donate some money to charity.
Do not expect anything in return.

Bonus points: Do not buy the charity single.

Been there - done that...never want anything in return and never talk about other stuff. Now being told to delete and redownload (clearly Bob doesn't realise I can delete and try to pay again on iTunes but won't be charged.)

Perhaps he meant delete iTunes.

That would make more sense.

i would pay £0.99 not to have it forcibly downloaded to my (if i had one) idevice, perhaps Tim Cook didn't see this opportunity.

Bob Geldof is a tax avoiding scum bag. Maybe if he paid the right amounts of tax instead of hiding his money then we would have more in the international aid budget.

A multi-millionaire demanding that the poor buy his vanity project while he sits on his millions is a bit ironic!

Do what fanpages says!

You do realise that without the cash that the 'xfactor tripe' brings in, record companies wouldn't have the cash to invest in new and up and coming artists?

Exactly!

A donation to a reputable place such as http://www.dec.org.uk/
