no worries, i want to keep watching this show as it is every sunday.. infact sundays suck and knowing top gear is on in the evening makes the day a hell of alot better.
thanks Kommunist

I do not watch it a lot (in fact, I don't watch TV at all - maybe once per month or so) but I am TG magazine subscriber. These guys are simply great! They should be allowed to do their great work without some "do-gooders" regulating them.
#4
i watch tv regularly but this is one show i will go out of my way for.... if i miss an episode i download it :$
its just the chemistry between the three of them... its second to nothing

Sorry to disagree guys but I think Top Gear is overated ..some of the stuff they get up to is just a vehicle for them to have a laugh at the licence payers expence.

May and the so called "hamster" I can take but Clarkson is so up himself that I'm surprised someone hasn't hit him..or maybe someone has??

I enjoyed Top Gear when it was strictly about cars and not about the presenters.

That's off my chest.

not just the cost of the licence fee they cost us, but also the hefty medical bill (and the air ambulance they called it out which coincidentally need to buy another one...maybe if they didnt get called out to pranksters like hammond they wouldnt need another copter) although he probably get's paid so much money to have a laugh that he can afford massive private health insurance...

it would be good if he actually came out and said 'yeah, youre right...i was stupid, let's stop blowing s*it up and speeding everywhere' and try and encourage others to do the same...so something good come from his unfortunate, but wholly unsuprising, accident. he has kids...IMO he's a reckless idiot.

Well thanks to Hamster, Yorkshire should get another Air Ambulance, due to the money raised. Top Gear is the best show on the BBC and to axe it would be barmy. No one can plan for a blow out, I had one at 100mph (in Germany when I was based there) and consider myself very lucky to be here still.

I guess one can love or loathe TG :) Just like Marmite (which I hate). :-D
The way I see it - regardless of what TG team would do, BBC will still charge the same amount (if not more) every year. I can't comment on TV program but TG magazine is great IMHO. JC (and many others from magazine) is really talented journalist. OK, he is provocative, abusive and totally politically incorrect. But I rather read his articles than What Car? ones because a) I share many of his views; b) articles are entertaining; c) I love cars.

Yeah... my license fee goes up whether or not TopGear survives. Better to have this adrenalin raising show than to have a crap soap where everyone loathes around.

thnx to those who have signed it, those who haven't... your choice
i personally think the licence fee money we pay is best
spent on programmes like MOTD, top gear, casualty and spooks the rest are not worth my time, eastenders is well im not gonna continue with that as i'd probably get banned.

well great news! they've started filming again and the BBC are also considering putting his accident on a special tv show (not associated with topgear) as long as richard says its ok too..... which knowing him he will :D

Sorry im gona have to not sign it :(

Its the kids and his wife i feel for - what if he'd died.

Im female, so im not interested in watching it, but i drive, and over 70mph is the speed limit, which yes ive gone over in my crazy first passed moments, but to go over it really IS stupid, accidents will happen yes, and i know he wasnt breaking the law as it was private land etc, but 300mph, just stupid in my eyes.

If he was a single lad i wouldnt care so much, but its really the kids i feel for, all for the sake of a program and to break a record, wooohoo, id rahter have my life thanks.

Boys and there toys eh.

Not having a go at anyone, but this really got to me.

agreed, but I read the bbc started filming again with the consent of Richard and his wife.

Signed, ever since the original producers ran off to make Fifth Gear on Channel Five, Top Gear has become much better under the new regime.
If you dont like it simply watch Fifth Gear instead.

I dont have a problem with them filming etc, but its just when someone gets hurt etc when its just not necissary :(

And yes you could get killed at anytime, but this is people risking there lives for nothing :( Even if its somethings he likes, he has children to think of :(

Thats whats upset me:(
#17
Joshanna, they are not risking lives for nothing. This is their life, they are living it because of that's how they want it to be, not because someone evil enslaved them.

You know, if people would only do "rational" things, and always think about kids, wives, husbands, etc - we would still live in caves. I am not saying that Hammond is a hero or something but he got passion to what he does and that's what counts.
#18
I agree with Kommunist - I wouldn't do this but I'm sure Richard and his family have thought about this and he still wants to do it. I'm sure it's not something he rushed into, and I'm sure that his wife would have talked him out of it if she really didn't want him to do the show.
#19
I suppose you've read the James May article..he was scheduled for this but had a diary conflict so Hammond took his place.
#20
yeah i did read that currychops

"When I was a lad" Top Gear used to be interesting and informative, showing reviews of cars that normal people could actually buy, as well as occasionally showing you some dream cars.

Now its mostly just watching a bunch of overgrown schoolboys racing around in fancy cars at the license payers expense. I hate it. Grrr. But then, maybe I'm just getting old.
