Got my 1st points on my driving licence yesterday for speeding.
Gutted. I was doing 67 in a 50 which was obviously very wrong but just gutted after having a clean licence for nearly 25 years.
I do drive toooo fast sometimes so think its time to slow down
How many points people got and anyone banned????

all correct 3* plus £60 for speeding, also they are never "removed" until you pay to get them off bit of a con really making you pay twice :x

wow 9..
Whats the rule on them coming off??

Got a producer too. Is that normal? I guess they need your licence off you to put points on.

stay on for 3 years (i think) then you have to apply to have them removed.

I believe they come off after 4 years although are still on your licence. And yes u will need to send it away to get hem put on.

67 in a 50. I might be wrong but isnt that above the 'normal' 3 point threshold!

lol good plan not one i have ever had to use thankfully!!

and yeah a producer is normal, i dont know why tho because they already know you have every thing else they would have siezed your car
#13
Should just be the 3 points and the fine.
You would have only been looking at a ban if over 75 mph in a 50 zone according to this

Never happened to me before so not sure.
Its a dual carriage way across a river, which in my opinion should be a 70.
The policeman who stopped me said if i was below 60 i would have just got a ticking ff but because it was over 60 i got the £60 fine and 3 points.
So maybe I was lucky????

i thought the threshold was 30mph over the limit then they refer you to court!? :?

Oh, it's 3 years is it.......I wasn't sure to be honest. That might mean 3 have already come off then. And I think you have to pay for a new licence if u want them completely removed:thumbsup:

Yeah over 30mph above the actual limit, tho i think it goes to court not just an instant ban??

just be in less of a rush to eat your dinner next time! :p

Although the Police attempt to resolve most offences by way of a Fixed Penalty Notice, at excessive speeds, a Court appearance is inevitable. As a general rule of thumb, for speeds in excess of 100 mph (or more than 30 miles above the relevant limit) the punishment starts at disqualification as opposed to penalty points. However, the decision is at the discretion of the Court and in certain circumstances, a disqualification can be avoided.

The points are 'live' for three years (therefore count in 'totting up'), but cannot be removed from your licence until after 4 years

got done for 50 in a 30 ,,, it was a 40 zone , what do you plead ? slightly guilty , i got done anyway

also reversing on the motorway , cops called me out to tow my sister off the motorway giving me the wrong place so i went past her , dropped onto the hard sholder and reversed back to then tow her off , opened boot turned around and theres the cops , the exact words

`` did you just reverse upto this car ?
`` yes ``
`` right thats an offence ``

i asked how the f@@k i was to push a 2 ton merc uphill but apparently this was what was expected of me , after this i have never at any point driven without total disregard to the cops and there attitude , they gave me a ticket and then reversed off and over the grass then onto the slip road , over the yrs i have since been done 14 times for having no tax

do the cops still play car snooker ? i heard that if there are two of them they play snooker and get points for pulling over cars the same as snooker balls, so if you drive a black car the cop that pulls you will get 7 points. the cop with the highest points wins

Yeah, I've had a clean license for 11 years now but my current Seat diesel is threatening that...it has so much mid range speed and torque that you have to be very careful on overtaking as it picks up speed so effortlessly. The previous 90bhp Octavia and 1.1L Metro were pretty much foot to the floor when overtaking in the hope of getting past but you just can't do that in my current car.

I do wonder about the Seat BTCC Leon though...it's quieter, faster and less reliable than the other cars which seems the opposite of a diesel to me??

Good idea - it's best you be taken off the road as soon as possible

Hate to think what your insuance premums will be once you pass the retest and get your license back. lol !

Just joking ;-) I'm sure glad you've decided to slow down - 70 in a 30 limit (even if it's a 'dualled' road) is plain stupid.
