Polar Ice caps melting!! are we going underwater?? :(

If all of the worlds ice caps melted what would happen to the world?.
Which places in the world would get flooded first? Are we even safe here in england the thought just scares me!

I remember seeing a picture a while back in geography class showing some sort of scientific prediction of how half of england and other countrys could go underwater. Australia for one and half of North America would basicly dissappear underwater.

I guess we better all start learning to swim pretty soon or become mutants like kevin costner in the movie waterworld :)

ryde-iow is very hilly and not far off portsmouth, the sea would never get up those hills for a while lol

LOL, iow? If you are paranoid about flooding and ending up in the sea, it is most definitely not the place to invest.

i can't even swim..

I can't even become an amphibian.

Also - info - if floating ice melts it doesn't alter sea levels, but melt water from land, obviously, would.

look at the bright side, you'll be dead by 2100 so have nothing to worry about.

By then man would have designed GIANT freezers that will cool the water and keep it frozen

Might be a reason to stay in Europe. More chance that some of the land will be above water :-D

if i have a glass full of ice and it melts, the level drops. so why would Britain's coastline disappear under water? Is the uk melting too ?
