hi just wondering if happens, say for speeding, reckless driving or going through a red light.

do they offer an instant fine. i.e they give you a paper or something that you sign to say you have been given a fine?

speeding you get 3 points and £60 or the chance to do a speed awareness course £60 and no points

traffic lights as above

reckless driving .. all depends .. how fast does your moped go again ?

Dont worry they cant track you on a pushbike as there's no numberplate

say i got done for traffic lights, I get 3 points and £60 fine.

does the fine get given to me straight away. Or do I wait a couple of days and it goes via the post?

Do i sign a peno notice saying i have been told Ive given a fine. What the score? just wondering cant find much info on the site thasnk

Fixed Penalty Ticket is endorsable/non endorsable is either fine/points or both on the spot, pay within a certain amount of time and/or send licence off for points to be added,or you can contest in court but fine may be higher

you are offered the chance to sign the ticket, not to admit anything but to say you have received a copy, some people refuse to sign and that is fine but your choice is either pay up or contest and go to court .

Yeah I didn't spell a word correctly and only noticed upon submitting. If I hadn't, then someone would have take the wotsit.

We usually pay rock paper scissors. If they lose, I get to play with their truncheons.

I'm glad I brought happiness to someone's day. Sadly I no longer bring misery to others by issuing tickets roughly in the form around which this thread is about though, but that is something else.

Anyone else think Boothy should be a 'helper'? He's not as fun to take the Peter (Schmeichel) out of anymore and his spelling and grammar have vastly improved - at least as good as the 12th grade anyway.

Also BG1 don't forget if you do get points then you have to report the number of points to your insurance company( if you have any that is )
#22
Once they recognise you from Lost they will probably just let you off in return for an autograph or photograph

BOOTHY for MOD !! gets my vote.

if you are stopped at the time, it can be either an endorsable fixed penalty notice as DC and Boothy said and yes you will be asked to sign the EFPN not to confirm your guilt but to accept receipt.
However, you could also be reported straight to court by the officer, you would have the offence pointed out and then cautioned, you will also be told that you will be reported to the court.
If its not at the time or nearby, then you may receive a NIP (notice of intended prosecution) this can be verbal but generally a written notice sent to your last known address (or the drivers, if thats not you) within 14 days (if I remember correctly, normally done by an admin dept) and another form where you will have to state who the driver was.
